Built with 2 deck mount flanges for greater stability, full step entry, and double handrails, this ladder is made for pools up to 4.5-foot side walls and a flat bottom. The latching gate securely closes and locks when the pool is not in use to prevent unwanted activity and injuries. The model AF is a double step entry system for easy climbing in and out of your pool. It has a self-closing, self-latching and lockable gate for both safety and to meet code requirements. It is adjustable from 48 inches to 56 inches with a 12-inch top rail clearance. With only a 22-inch foot print, this ladder allows for maximum use of your pool. Putting it together took my husband and I over 4 hours because the instructions were not easy to follow. It came super fast and they even sent us a wrong part. Customer service was amazing and got us a replacement super quickly. The lock is great for my autistic son. Stairs are still not super sturdy but way better then the ladder we had. Would recommend a part to keep the door open while you are in the pool. It's hard to get out with the gate closing on you. Also the slots in the gate have been closed so children can't climb them like one did in the news. We very much appreciate the upgrade! ... show more

    • Be semi weary of the stairs.

It's great The stairs are kinda steep. The arm rails at the top are very wobbly I have feet that have had surgery, so it's scary for me at the top. All in all I think the stairs are good, built a little cheaply. Just maybe not for me. Not worth the $600+

First of all this product is massively overpriced for what it is. The unit does not meet typical stair codes. The step is small and the rise per step is massive making it very unsafe for children and the elderly. The hand rail is almost non existent as far as any structural value. Any person at all big or small can easily rip the rail clear off and fall either back into the pool or on the ground and get injured. Worst of all after purchasing this product and finding out it was so poorly made we are returning it and the company is charging us $94 in shipping costs. If I were Amazon I’d be ashamed that they even offer this product. Amazon won’t even refund us the cost of the shipping that we need to pay for. I’ll be sure to cancel my Amazon account after this purchase. RUN AWAY AS Fast as you can with this garbage. ... show more

Instructions are a bit hard to understand but my husband got this put together with little-no problems at all. It’s sturdy and toddler proof. I’m pleasantly surprised with the quality for 1/3 of the cost of the more expensive brands. It’s a HUGE upgrade from the rickety ladder the pool came with. We have a 52” tall, 32x16 bestway soft sided pool and this fits great. We put it in a corner because the pool legs are on wood planks so it didn’t fit in between them. 1 billion x better than the ladder my 12x24 Intex pool came with. I’m 53 female and it took me 6 hours to put together. It was not easy but I’m not the best craftsman. I used pea gravel and my 30 yo son helped me to hoist it over and into the pool, was not that heavy even with filling with about 30 lbs of pea gravel. You can’t use anything larger than pea gravel or it will get stuck. I didn’t use the door as I don’t have small kids to worry about. I’m getting a mat delivered today that lays under the steps inside the pool, just to keep the vinyl safe. The steps do give a little when you stand on them and the railings do wiggle a bit when you are pulling yourself out of the pool. But overall, this is what I needed to help keep my elderly parents safe when using the pool. The ledge is nice too for my little and nephews to sit on. I really love them! WAY BETTER THAN THE LADDER THE POOLS COME WITH!!! ... show more

Assembly instructions are horrible to try and follow , safety gate needs to be sturdier kinda flimsy plastic hinges aren’t very strong. the handles to hold onto climbing up and the ones on top aren’t very sturdy either.
