This was far less expensive than most other ladders, and it works fine. I'm 5' 11" and about 175 pounds and it easily holds my weight. The non-water side legs have extensions on the side that stabilize it well.

All in all, this ladder works great. It wasn't difficult to put together and I love the ease that the outer rungs can be removed to prevent unauthorized access to the pool. We bought this ladder to replace a terrible one that came with our 52inch pool. I was hesitant because the price was SOOOO good, but after reading a lot of reviews we decided to do so. I can't say enough GREAT things about this ladder. 1) Set up--SUPER EASY. All the parts were clearly labelled and it took my husband and I about an hour to put it all together. 2) STURDY! It's very sturdy, the stairs fit snuggly, the platform is the perfect width and it was very easy to climb in and out of the pool. 3) SAFETY! I love that you can removed the steps that lead into the pool. No need to worry about safety issues when you aren't using the pool. Just pop the steps out and no one is getting on that ladder. If you are reading this, have a 52inch pool and are looking for a GREAT ladder for a GREAT price ($100) BUY IT NOW! You will NOT be sorry. Bravo Intex--you never disappoint. ... show more

This is definitely a step up from what we had. Love the platform so kids aren't stepping on the rim of the pool. Love that it has the removable outside ladder that's very easy to snap in and out. We have not stored the outside ladder on the top because I feel that a windstorm would send it flying and potentially hurt the liner so we just store it in our shed. Good quality for the price!
