  • Love it!
I prefer this over a traditional ladder. The steps make it easy for the young and the old to get in and out of the pool! I bought this and the weight system you can add to the sides of it to hold it down so the steps won't float up! As far as the steps go, they are great, the problem was that it did float up. We did not want to fill it with sand because as other reviewers stated, it makes it nearly impossible to get it out of the pool when it's weighted down with sand! We let the water from the pool fill it up, it still floated up. We filled the side weights with sand, attached them and it still floated up. We had to purchase 2 10 pound dumbbell rubber hand weights from Walmart and zip tie them to the sides of the steps along with the Easy Weight system, and that did the trick. I give these steps 5 stars because of the ease of getting in and out of the pool and they seem to be well made. I have some large 270+ pound men in my family, and the steps can handle all of that weight with ease! ... show more

  • HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!! My pool looks amazing
Style: Pool Step Only
I read a lot of reviews for above ground steps deck mounted before I made my purchase. Our above ground pool is surrounded with deck finding an adequate solution was time consuming especially reviewing what previous owners opinions were. That being said these steps are ideal for our needs. I took a variety of suggestions from other reviews. This is how we set up our new steps. First NO sand, as weights to keep the steps stable The thought of it is an nightmare in a pool. I used two 25# rubberized weights mounted with zip ties on the inside of the step structure, that with the water that fills the area for sand keeps these steps from floating all over the place. Most people suggested 10# weights on each side, however my concern was steps moving around. So glad I used 25# weights. Probably overkill but absolutely no floating on these steps. Next we had to build up from the deck to meet the bracket that attaches the steps firmly to the deck. The rim of my pool sits on the deck. It required two pieces of 2x4 cut to the length of the brace and stacked to level for each side. We painted the wood to match the deck, looks amazing. I love , love how it looks. I’m extremely pleased with this purchase. It will be time consuming to remove the steps for winter but well worth it. ... show more

  • Nice steps but wobbly rails
Style: Pool Step Only
These are nice steps but the rails could use some work. The rails are a bit wobbly and not very sturdy. However, the steps are nice and sturdy when properly installed. We didn't use sand to weight down the steps. We filled a 5 gallon bucket with cement and tied it with a rope underneath the steps. It worked like a charm. Downside to any steps is the lack of waterflow behind them, which causes algae to grow. Quick fix for that is to put one of those pond water fountain pumps under the stairs to help get water flowing behind the stairs. You can usually buy one for under $20. I think the price is a bit steep for these but still less expensive that some others. If you're looking for steps for your pool, I would recommend these. ... show more

  • They were easy to assemble
Style: Pool Step Only
These stairs arrived on the expected date, and were packaged into one large box. They were easy to assemble, and instructions were clear to follow. All the items needed to put the stairs together were included in the box, with the exception of tools such as a hammer or screw driver which I did use to push in the side caps on the stairs or screw the secure section to the deck. The stairs are filled with sand, about 25 pounds on each side, to provide weight and keep them down in the pool, water will not work. My pool is an Intex pool just under 5 ft. deep and the stairs fit perfect into it. They are not to down deep into the pool where you feel like you are going to fall in, and they are not to high where they are sticking out of the water. The first step sits just below the water, where you step onto it and the water covers your foot. They are sturdy, even my mother feels confident using these stairs to go in and out of the pool. They are not bulky where they are taking up to much space, however; my pool is 18 ft across. I do believe they would be bulky in a 14ft pool and smaller, and in a 14 ft pool they might be to tall. I highly recommend these above ground pool stairs. ... show more

  • 2014 Update
2014 Update: Husband stored on the deck but didn't surround wrap it in plastic during winter. Cleaning out dirt and dust was a chore. He learned his lesson - maintenance is everything. He will wrap it this year when we approach pool closing. Entire unit, stairs and rails still in tip-top condition. This will be our 4th season. 2013 Update: We took the steps out of the pool last winter and simply stored it on our deck. Despite going through the winter, it had no damage. Unit still in perfect condition. Original comment: We're closing our pool for the winter and just pulled the Pool Step out of the water. It's the end of our second season and this past summer we had many, many 100+ degree days and lots of sun all summer. These steps are in the same condition as the day we unpacked them in 2011. No cracking of the plastic and I have always felt confident getting into and out of the water as there has never been any wobbling. We have a 16' x 32' above ground pool that is set in the ground, and at my age it's not possible to "jump" out over just the rail. We let the water drain out of the steps each season and store it in the garage to avoid the extremes of freezing weather during the winter. This is a keeper and well worth the price. ... show more

  • Great set of stairs.
The stairs are really worth purchasing. We live in Zone 5 so have to take the stairs out for the winter to empty of water and store in the garage so they won't freeze. The instructions have you fill a certain area with pool filter sand to weight them down. We would never have been able to get them out of the pool if we had done that so we just tied 10 lb. weights around the bottom of each railing and it works perfectly. We just cut the weights off and then pulled the stairs out. The railings are not as sturdy as I would have liked if someone has the need to put alot of weight on them. ... show more
