  • Easy to put together! Very sturdy! All fasteners needed are included.
Style: Pool Step Only
The stairs came on time and perfectly described! There were a couple items in the box that I thought I forgot to put on, but this particular one comes with parts for a couple different applications, so don't panic if you have left over parts, too, lol! Directions were easy to follow and once I got it together I just placed it in the pool so it could fill with water. (I didn't use sand). For us, a 4X4 (I think 24" long) piece of wood was perfect to put under the support arms (that face away from the pool at the bottom of the ladder hand-rails when you are entering the pool, the support arms that you secure to the deck of your pool) because we have weird rails on our above ground pool, so we could only lower them so far. The 4X4 fit perfectly. I secured the wood to the deck, and secured the support arms to the 4X4. Works perfectly for a family of four and has stayed in place and doesn't wobble. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Nice pool steps
Style: Pool Step Only
Nice pool steps. Easy to assemble & attach to wood deck. Used a sand bag on each side to hold it down & it stayed in place perfectly, not a speck of sand leaked out. Wide steps & incline made getting in & out much much easier than a regular pool ladder. Easy enough to remove at the end of season. I was hesitant about purchasing online but am glad I did. Steps look nice with the pool. Very pleased with the purchase & I would definitely recommend & would also buy again if needed. ... show more

  • Quality Steps for Pool
I like these steps very much. They are extremely easy to put together. The hand rails are sturdy, contrary to what I've read about other types of pool steps. I can't say enough about the design of these steps. That being said, I did do some tweaking of my own. 1. First off there aren't enough holes in these steps for the water to get in. The weight of the water is suppose to keep the steps on the bottom of the pool. That didn't happen, they tended to float around the pool. Granted you're suppose to add sand into the frame, but according to the directions the pool would sit on the bottom with the water weight. I drilled a lot more holes all throughout the steps. 2. Second I didn't like the idea of the sand. Because I live alone, I need to get the steps in and out of the pool by myself to winterize the pool. So I figured the steps would be too heavy with 40 pounds of sand and the water to get them out of the pool. What I did was create a "shelf" underneath the steps. I bought 10' X 1 inch PVC and cut it into three pieces the width of the steps. I then drilled holes in each piece and zip-tied them in between the rails of the steps. I then was able to use three stone pavers, or any other type of weight, to sit on the "shelf" and hold the steps down. 3. Third, the steps, as a whole, are very heavy with the water in them. I discovered its easier to take the steps apart in the pool and take the pieces out one by one instead of trying to pull the steps out as a whole piece. All in all, I love these steps. They are so much safer than the old fashioned ladder I use to have. Anyone or anything (animals) would be able to get out of the pool should they accidentally fall in. I hope my input helps anyone who purchase these. I say experiment with the steps before you permanently attach them and see what works best for you. ... show more

  • Stairs very well made and easy to put together
Style: Pool Step Only
Easy to install and all parts were delivered. The stairs are really nice and make entering/ exiting the pool very easy. Make sure to purchase the weight bags. You need at least 20lbs to hold the stairs down. I used pebbles instead of sand.

  • Ok item with issues!
Style: Complete Pool Step & Ladder Entry Sy...
First it is definitely better than a typical standard pool ladder. However; I find it expensive. In fact it cost more than my entire pool and filter. The directions are lacking. My main issue is that they need to disclose up front before purchase that you will need 75 lbs. of play sand to hold it down and stable. So a trip to the big box home store was needed. I would not have minded so much if it were simply disclosed to me up front. I didn't discover this until I was well into assembly. The bottom rails are a worthless waste of time. To me it seems like an after thought by the engineers and it don't work. It wont take long before the cheap zip ties that hold the bottom rails on break off. The gate seems to have been a design after thought as well. It doesn't line up well it needs to be perfectly flat and level or you will have issues with it self closing as its supposed to do. DO NOT MAKE A MISTAKE WHEN YOU INSTALL THE LATCH OR YOUR SUNK! It is plastic and once the holes are in that's it. If you mess this up and trust me its easy to do mainly because the directions are so poor you will wind up with holes and nothing to hold the screws into. It does go together quick once you figure it out but everything seems like it was designed after the fact. The design for the money should have been and could have easily been far better than it is. The snap in treads tend to loosen and seem like they are not safe even thought they do hold the weight advertized the entire unit seems shaky and unstable. The play sand is a must! I've modified mine to be 100% stronger and more stable but the cost of the stainless steel hardware will set you back even more money and you should not have to do this on a $600 item. I used Stainless steel threaded rod washers and nuts and ran them threw the steps and frame and it worked well. I bought this because I needed an easier and safer way to enter the pool for older guests. This seems to be the only game in town. I can't find any other product so I was kind of forced into buying this one. Bottom line is I needed these steps so I made them safe my own self. If I didn't need this item I defiantly would pass on it. It's poorly designed, poor directions and a whole lot of money for plastic junk. I almost forgot. They really have no clue designing this item. Dead algae collects everywhere on these steps and they are difficult to clean. Try starting with the top stem with a small brush. Wipe out each narrow tread so the algae falls down to the next step and so on until you get the algae to fall on the bottom of the pool then simply vac it up. You must also sweep out every nook and cranny. It's insanity! The tubes should be simple and straight and the treads wider spaced so you wipe it out with a finger it would also be easier on bare feet. Do these guy actually own a pool? I have my doubts. Did they test this in a pool? Why do the customers have to tell them all the issues with their product? That can't be a good thing. One last trick, leave the bottom riser off,it wont stay on anyway and you can vac the algae under the stairs since getting to the back is not easy or even possible in some pools. Moving the stairs when they are weighted down with sand is also not easy. Either that or just leave the algae on and near the stairs alone. What ever you do, don't allow any play near or around the stairs. The stairs can be the most dangerous place for kids to be. They like to jump off them, swim between the hand rails and even try to get behind the stairs. So to avoid possible drowning, I'm serious, watch the kids and enforce this rule! UPDATE: They now make weights that attach to the sides of the steps. Fill them with sand instead of the steps. I haven't tried them yet but it sounds like a good idea. Around $20. It is easier to instal and remove the steps this way, makes sense. In order for me to use them I have to remove the sand from the steps then fill the weights. Not sure if I want to bother with that at this time. Update: faults not withstanding, it's 3 years old and still works well! update, nearly 5 years old, still standing! ... show more

  • Good quality and very sturdy. Needs weights to keep down though
Style: Pool Step Only
We installed this last weekend and so far they are very nice steps. Definitely have to have weights on side of ladder or they will float up. Other than that, we really like them. They are sturdy and look great in our pool
