  • Worth the money
Color: Warm Grey/Grey Treads Size: Base Step
These steps were so worth the money. The steps that came with our pool were a pain to put together and so unsafe. These steps were a breeze to put together and very sturdy. There’s a video you can watch or you can use the instruction book. We have an 18’ above ground pool that’s 52” tall. These fit perfect with the top step out of the water but still below the pool edge. We just left the caps off where the sand goes and let it fill with water. We also made weights for underneath and attached them with zip ties. We’re very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend. ... show more

  • Excellent Service, Fabulous Steps
Color: Warm Grey/Blue Size: Base Step with Add-On
The pool steps arrived on time, but unfortunately, was missing one small piece, which of course every piece is usually the most important. I contacted the seller via Amazon’s communication app. They immediately responded and put the piece in the mail the next day and I had it within a couple of days. Excellent Customer Service! As for the steps themselves, I put them together, 62 year-old granny here, all by myself. there are only six screws for the whole contraption. This includes the steps and the add-on to make it a full wedding cake set. So I added a few extra screws to areas I felt needed them. I filled the first part with 50 pounds of playground sand. I filled the add-on with about 25 pounds of playground sand. The sand caps are questionable but when you put the steps on top of them, there’s absolutely no way they can come out. I built the steps close to the edge of my pool deck so that if they were super heavy, I would not have to move them too far to drop into the pool. That was the only time I asked for help from my daughter. She got into the pool and I slowly slid the steps to her. I had her step back and I pushed one last time to project them forward as far away from the deck as possible. They made a big splash and floated. Grandkids loved it! Then we all, myself, daughter and two grandkids (8&11), sat on the steps until the areas with the holes filled with water. Even with 70+ pounds of sand, like it recommends, they still wanted to float. I added two plastic sand containers that weigh about 20 pound each to the under part of the steps. I zip tied to the bar that goes across the bottom underside. That helped somewhat. But after I screwed the steps to the deck, they were solid. Underneath the steps I have to gym mats that are about 3/4 of an inch thick. I placed them upside down so the smooth side is against the bottom and the nubby side is facing upward. I purchased stair mats before and found them extremely flimsy. This is my second set of steps, the previous was not a wedding cake. I used the gym mats on the previous steps and they worked great. The step are exactly what I wanted; something that we can sit on and kick our feet, looks nice, and is easier to enter and exit the pool. Overall great experience with the seller and the steps are fabulous. ... show more

  • Absolutely love it
Color: Warm Grey/Grey Treads Size: Base Step with Add-On
Update 6/2019: Still have them, still going strong. Copying some resourceful reviewers on here, I've removed all the sand, let them fill with pool water, slid a 1.5" diameter PVC pipe under the main stairs between 2 holes in the sides (my unit is the older one before the holes were filled in), hung 2 3-gallon buckets (with lids of course) full of sand from it and attached the plastic arms to the deck. They are firmly in place. We did not hang the buckets of sand until after the stairs were in the pool as this made it easier to get them into the pool & jostle around to fill with water. Make sure you let them fill with water - air is your nemesis here! For end of season removal, just remove the buckets of sand, drain as much water as possible, have one average person in the pool and one on the deck and work together to lift them out. How do I know? Tried it. 2 of us were able to easily remove them by removing the buckets of sand, lifting and tilting them (while we were both in the pool) to let some water drain until we felt they were light enough. Then one of us got out of the pool, the person in the pool lifts & tilts the stairs while the person on the deck steadies and lifts. This is much, much easier than when they were filled with sand - obviously. Will post photos when I remove them from the pool this year, but look through the reviews, there are photos from others showing this method. I highly recommend these stairs still. Update: Removing these from the pool is definitely a 2-3 person job. I was able to do it with myself plus one, but it was not easy. Consider that in planning at closing time. Product idea: some sort of folding lift system to assist in getting these out, I may try to devise something. Still highly recommend these, we have gotten lots of positive remarks from people who have seen and used them in our pool. We have been using this for just about a full season now. Absolutely love it, much, much better than a plain old ladder. Buying it here was by far the best price. Not hard to put together, pouring the sand in was a bit tedious but after putting it into the pool I can see why so much is needed. Its still fairly buoyant even with all that wet sand. Use of the plastic arms to attach it to the deck (as per the directions) made it quite sturdy and not easily movable. Others have modified this to hold sandbags or cinder blocks instead of filling it with sand, I think I'll find out why when I attempt to haul these suckers out of the pool for winter. I'll be tackling that task within the next 2 weeks. 80lbs of wet sand, pool is 52" tall.....going to call a buddy over, split a 6 pack and then try to haul it out without damaging the side of the pool. ... show more
