I use this cast iron pan every single day. It's so reliable when you know how to use it right! When I first purchased it 3 years ago, I seasoned it in my oven. If you don't know how to do this, Google is your friend! It was a bit of a smokey process, but worth it. Seasoning the pan makes it non-stick, creating a surface called a "patina" that results from the reaction between the metal and the oil. Although it came pre-seasoning and I seasoned it before I used it, it still took a few times cooking oily foods (think bacon) to really get it to be non-stick. TO MAKE IT NON-STICK: Preheat it! I preheat my pan on the stove with nothing in it. I have a gas stove, and all fire will HEAT UNEVENLY. However, unlike a thin non-stick pan, cast iron KEEPS HEAT EVENLY! After it's pre-heated, I turn the heat to the correct temperature for what I'm cooking. Right before I add my food, I add oil. This helps lubricate the pan. Remember, HOT PAN, COLD OIL. TO CLEAN: I pour in water and let it boil while scraping the pan with a flat metal spatula. This does not scrape off the patina, but only the food bits that are stuck. Afterwards, I pour it into the sink and rinse, using a brush to loosen the rest of the food bits. If I've cooked something really messy, I'll use a sponge with dish soap to get it off. SOAP IS NOT YOUR ENEMY! After every cleaning, I put the pan back onto the stove and put it on high to dry it off. Then, I will coat the cooking surface with a thin layer of oil, usually by pouring about a teaspoon of oil into the pan and rubbing it in with a paper towel. Then, turn off the heat and cool. It's ready to store or cook your next meal!

I had to return 12 1/2 inch pot. I got through Flav city Flav city. It was beautiful, but way way too heavy even with a little handle on the side. This one is perfect and weight balance is 10 inches it has the additional handle… I have arthritis in my wrists, and it makes it easy for me to lift.

This skillet arrived well-seasoned, right out of the box. I have other iron skillets, but this one has had very minimal sticking of foods compared to other skillets when first starting out. I expect that it will only get better with use. I like the longer handle and the helper handle. It weighs less than my Lodge skillet of the same size. Cleaning is very easy.

I bought this pan to fry a single egg for breakfast. I have an induction stove so all the little aluminum pans littering the market will not work for me. The pan arrived on time and I was surprised at the fine finish, no flashing or rough areas. The handle does not overbalance the pan and it sets flat on my stove. I was concerned the egg would stick, so coated the pan with a dab of butter and used a small silicone spatula to gently slide around the edge of the egg when it was finished cooking. The egg slid right out, no problem. I definitely recommend this very well made tiny pan that you can hold in your hand like a kitten. I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it.

Works great for eggs, you need to use enough oil/butter, if you do they won't stick. Smoother than my Lodge and I prefer the longer handle for moving the pan, lifting to turn eggs, and holding while washing. Amazing value for the price.
