I bought this as a replacement for my old outdoor cooking area awning. It gets hot and the sun can be unbearable here in Kansas. My old one just disintegrated in the sun and ripped apart in a medium windstorm. I installed this new one quickly and easily and have had it on for a week now. It definitely does the job of shading me and looks great too. We have had a couple windstorms and the sunshade is holding up fine. We liked it so well I ordered a spare.

Our patio pavilion gets direct sun in the afternoon. This sun shade is the perfect solution. I bought some stainless steel hooks and screwed them into the soffet then hung the shade from them. I used some thin bungee cords to secure it to the posts and some weighted bags for the bottom. It has endured very strong winds. The key is to make sure it's not stretched too tight, this prevents the grommets from tearing in high winds. The pictures show sunlight reduction. Some light and heat get through but it's so much better than being in full sun.

The ties that are provided are more like strings. They are not durable and will not hold the fabric down in place. But the material for this cover is sturdy and well made.

I put this on my back porch to hid it from the street ... works as I expected ... not had it long so do not know how well it weathers rain and weather we get here ... seems strong but no real winds yet in summer. I have nothing bad to say at this point.

We are full time RVers building our South Texas Home Base. 100+ temperatures have been almost unbearable even with an RV Port. We have clumped bamboo down most of one side, but needed something on the western side. This is a great solution!!! The shade cloths come with para cord ties. We, however, used long zip ties so hopefully we don't have to continually tie and retie them. Tighten them up as much as reasonable, understanding they will loosen up some when warmed by the sun. But, don't tighten too tight or you will tear the material near the grommets. Through trial and error, we recommend tying the top center first for centering and then the top corners. These shade cloths were an exact fit for our RV Port sections, but already with Texas wind and sun they have a little play and billow some after only 1 week. Doesn't bother us! Note: It does significantly reduce some breeze. It probably knocks air flow down an estimated 80 percent. Nice little shop fans from harbor freight help tremendously until we install our outdoor ceiling fans. Thank goodness our southern and northern winds actually creat a venturi effect, especially with added shop fan! We were concerned we would be claustrophobic because the manufacturer says it reduces UV by 90%. But!!! We can see out easily!!! We can easily see even from inside the RV! Before the shades, we had to leave all the blinds down in our RV to help with the Western Sun and Heat! Now we can leave all the blinds open and enjoy the view through the outdoor shades! We can see out, but difficult for others to see into our space. This added benefit of privacy we weren't expecting. Love the privacy!!! Even if we weren't concerned about the heat of the sun, which is the main reason we bought them, we still would buy them for the privacy these give us!!! But, do they reduce the sun's rays? Extremely well!!! You could hardly touch our RV when the western sun arrived on this side of our porch! Now we are actually using our porch even in the afternoon during this intense South Texas summer! Will they hold up? We don't know. We bought warranties just in case for all 6. (We put up two on the eastern side to help with morning sun as well.) Out of all 6 shade cloths we bought, we did have to send one back because one of the grommet was miss- stamped and falling out. A replacement was immediately sent out from Amazon. I will try to update this review over time with regard to how they hold up. But for now, we highly recommend them! They work well! They look super nice! All of our neighbors have commented on how nice they look! Love them! Just buy them!

We like everything about this screen except we cannot tighten up the center to prevent the extreme sagging. We haven’t had any rain, but when we do that sagging is going to cause major problems. We’ll most likely have to cut holes in it to relieve the water.
