The overall design and operation of the unit is very nice. It heats up quickly, temperatures appear to be accurate to each setting, and it makes a great pot of tea quickly. Con the tea infuser attaches to the lid (which is great for removal); however, this means that part of the infuser is not in the water-- the area between the lid and the max height of the water level -- so if the infuser is full for strong tea, the upper part of the infuser isn't submerged in the water for full infusion... that's a bummer. consequently, i rest the infuser on the bottom of the pot and usually it remains upright, but occasionally will tip and lose some of the tea. There is a built-in strainer at the spout which filters out larger tea pieces but if you don't want any lose tea floating in your cuppa, you'll want to pour through a strainer. Had the pot for a couple months when dark areas began to appear on bottom of pot, but it's not an issue for me. I think it's just a discoloration from the hard water we have. Overall, i do enjoy the quick and piping hot pot of tea I get with it.

I make 3 types of black tea, English breakfast, Irish breakfast and Earl Grey, 1-1500ml pot per day. It worked great for 10 months (easy to use, easy to clean, good temperature control and fast brew time) for making tea from bulk. Recently it started to randomly leak out the remainder of the pot with no regard to how much tea was left. As you would imagine, that creates a big mess when the pot is half full or more. I contacted Viante customer support and to my delight they are sending me a new replacement unit! So the 5 stars is not only for the tea maker, but for Viante's excellent customer support. I'm a very happy customer 😊

Kettle works great! Boils water fast, variable temperature settings are a must have feature. Depending on your water quality, some hard water deposits do build up on occasion but one wash with vinegar and warm water cleans it out perfectly. All you have to do is add a cup of white vinegar and let it sit for 5 min or add a mix of one cup vinegar and one cup water and boil on lowest temp and the kettle looks new, wash with dish soap and water. If you want to neutralize the vinegar odor add baking soda to the vinegar as you're washing out the vinegar. The kettle does have one design flaw: bottom of kettle where the glass meets the base has a plastic or glue that starts to visibly deteriorate after 6 months. Communication with the company on the warranty first got a response that this product is out of warranty because the warranty is only a 6-month warranty. After messaging them through Amazon that it hasn't even been a year they agreed to replace it with a new one and they did. Responsive customer service. Warranty info is confusing, the company website under FAQ says "Every product comes with a warranty of 1 year. If you register your purchase, you will automatically extend your warranty for one additional year!" Yet, the packaging includes a flyer that would indicate a 6-month warranty because it says "Scan the QR to "Extend your warranty from 6-months to 1 year".

Love this new kettle! It is very sharp looking. Best of all the different temperatures for different teas has changed my love fur tea. It is a fast heat up process and the water is perfect. I wish the black tea setting had the warm feature but it is the only con with so many pros. Very satisfied with this product!

This is hands down the best kettle I could find. I had previously owned 3 different electric kettles over the years. Even the stainless steel types had some plastic parts in them, and over time their look and difficulty to clean became tired. This time around, I was looking for a new type of design and this product has them all. In order of importance I looked for: - plastic and BPA free materials. The stainless steel base and beautiful durable glass work just perfect. There is a plastic cap on top, as the only plastic part, but it does not touch the water. From practicality standpoint, plastic cap makes sense, as the often removed element would be subject to breakage. The glass is super durable. Personally I would never worry about breaking it. - easy to clean; this is the 1st product I was able to find that has wide opening. No baby hands needed to clean it. - stylish look for our kitchen. Love the classic, clean European design. - temp controls for boiling point, coffee, and teas. - fast boiling. This unit reaches boiling point about 50% quicker compared to my previous kettle. It seems to have a larger heating element. After 1 year of usage, we liked this product so much that we ordered a 2nd one recently for ourselves and planning to get another one to gift to our family. One characteristic to consider is its width. The unit has slightly larger width than most kettles. For me it is a plus (due to ease of cleaning and wider heating element for faster boiling), just something to consider for very tight spaces.
