Features

  • Easy to Use: With four adjustable modes, you can set a timer, use the light sensor, switch to manual mode, or operate our automatic chicken coop door remotely with the included remote control. Customize the door opening and closing to suit your specific needs.
  • Anti-Pinch Infrared Sensor: Our infrared sensor is designed to protect your chickens from accidents. If it detects any obstacles when closing the door, such as chickens or other objects, the automatic chicken door opener will immediately stop closing. The LCD screen provides real-time status updates, including whether the door is open or closed and the remaining battery life.
  • Dual Limiters for Safety: The limiters prevent the chicken coop door from moving beyond its maximum open or closed positions. This helps reduce wear on the door, prolonging the lifespan of the opener and reducing maintenance and repair costs.
  • Battery or DC Power: Our automatic chicken door is versatile and easy to install, requiring no complicated wiring. It can be powered by batteries, ensuring convenience in all conditions. We provide 4 AA batteries and a 27A/12V battery for the remote control, so it's ready to use right out of the box with no need to purchase additional batteries.
  • All Weather Use: Our auto chicken coop door is built to withstand harsh weather conditions, ensuring the safety of the poultry. Working temperature range: -15F to 140F (-20C to 60C). It has an IP44 waterproof rating, making it resistant to exposure to sunlight, heavy rain, and snow. Whether it's scorching hot or snowing heavily, it can handle it all with ease.

  • Good solid electric door with good instruction manual
The control panel is integrated into the front of the door, with weatherproof covering, so there's no need to install protective covering. It comes with a DC power inlet which you can charge from AC using the provided wall-wart (which would go into your extension cord rather than the wall), or solar. It also comes with four AA batteries that can be used instead, and changed tool-lessly. The batteries are in a closed compartment up under the control box, so rain should not get in there. The remote, if you want to run your chicken coop at a distance, is run by a small A27 battery, and one of those is also supplied. To put it in the remote control, you use the tiny jeweler's Phillips screwdriver supplied. Be careful with the screws. They seem like they're captive until they're not. They also supply a matching tiny jeweler's flat-head screwdriver. Four wood screws are supplied for screwing the door into an opening in your coop. Since the door goes up and down, there is no screw hole at the top, and for height considerations there's also none at the bottom. Just two screw holes on each side, not very far apart, so if a heavy animal were to push at the top I suppose they could tear the door out of the opening. Fortunately that doesn't describe chickens. If a heavy animal were to approach from outside, they would have to get purchase with their claws on the upper part of the door to try to tear it out, so you might want to protect that with a bit of shim or baseboard around it. The instructions say the wood screws are self-tapping. They're not. They also say that you should predrill the holes. This is correct, and it's good practice even with self-tapping screws to prevent sawdust clogging the screw threads and weakening the connection. No proper screwdriver is supplied; presumably you have an ordinary Phillips screwdriver. The frame and the door are plenty solid for the purpose. An animal will not be able to break through the door itself. The mechanism works smoothly. ... show more

  • Remote with 3 modes of power & infrared anti-pinch detection
The media could not be loaded. This is my 3rd auto-chick-coop-door I ordered in the past month & chose to keep. It carries more sturdy /heavy duty than my 1st but wasn’t as pricey as 2nd. The physical installation was no fuss & automatic timer setup was intuitive; barely read the instructions. I like the power options of using standard electric power cord, batteries or solar. The other 2 were limited to either solar or batteries & power cord or solar. As far as the infrared anti-pinch detection- there was a little delay & gave me a bit anxiety but overall it’s the best out of three & I’m satisfied with it. Almost forgot about the remote , it reacts way better to the door sensor than my previous with distance & function & this door is quieter than the previous. If I could give it a half point more, I’d say 4.5 happy! ... show more

  • Great auto chicken door
This is a great addition to any coop! I have not actually installed it yet since it's January in northern Illinois, but I cannot wait. I've had it on a board in the house to test it out prior to installing it. It works as expected. It has a remote if your coop is close enough to where you'll be using the remote. You could instead set the timer or use a light sensor. I live in a heavily wooded area so the timer is likely going to work best for me. It's really easy to set your times using the lcd screen just above the door. You can have it plugged in and or running off battery. The door size is perfect for any chicken and duck breed. Now my turkeys are another story... I think that possibly the full grown males can close their feathers bend down and go through, as well as the not so big ones. I have a a couple girls that I know will never be getting through that door. Peafowl will get through no problem. My favorite aspect of this door is the safety sensor to protect any birds in the way when the door is closing. The birds can be real dummies sometimes and I haven't installed an automatic door for this exact fear of a bird getting hurt in the door. Install is straightforward with hardware included. Definitely worth the buy! I will update with pics or video in the spring! Plus it'll have been working for a couple months by then. ... show more

  • Good Automatic Coop Door
My first automatic chicken coop door, and it's been great for me. Installation of the door itself was very easy. Everything but a means to drive the screws in is included. I'd recommend, if you can, you try to find a drill and driver to make installation as easy as possible. Setting up the timer was also very easy. I just read through instructions and I had everything working in no time. It's quite solid once installed, and I am not worried about anything getting through this door once it's closed. No prey around me, at least, will get through it. Different modes for opening and closing. You can set a timer, use light sensing to open at dawn and close at dusk, remotely control the door with a little key fob remote or control it with a button on the door itself. I tested all of these features and everything worked as expected. I'm sticking with the timer. The door has IR sensors to stop itself from closing on your chickens, or really anything in the way of the door, and it works just fine. You get a few options for supplying it with power. DC, 4 AA batteries and solar power. Everything seems to be sealed up quite nicely to protect it from the elements. I get rain often, and have been getting rain every day since installing the door, and I have not noticed any issues. I will be keeping an eye on it just in case water gets in over time. ... show more
