Reliable, Consistent, and Vibrant – A Great Everyday Filament

As someone who prints regularly for both functional parts and hobby models, I’ve gone through several brands of PLA. OVERTURE’s purple filament is one of the better options I’ve used, especially at this price point. Pros: Color & Finish: The purple hue is vibrant without being garish. It has a nice semi-gloss finish that really pops on detailed prints like figurines and display pieces. Winding & Spool: The spool is neatly wound, which matters more than most people realize — no tangles or snags, which means fewer failed prints due to filament jams or inconsistent feeding. Print Performance: Layer adhesion is solid. I printed at 200°C with a 60°C bed and got smooth, clean results with minimal stringing. It handled retraction and bridging well, even on more complex geometries. Compatibility: Works great with my Ender 3 V2 and also performed well on a Prusa MK3S+. I’ve gone through nearly the entire spool without any noticeable inconsistencies or clogging. Cons: Not the strongest PLA: While the surface quality is excellent, this isn’t the toughest PLA I’ve worked with. If you need something more impact-resistant or functional under stress, you might want to look at PLA+ or PETG. Slight odor when printing: Nothing overpowering, but there’s a noticeable sweet-plastic smell during printing. It’s not unpleasant — just something to be aware of if printing in a small space. Final Verdict: For hobbyists, cosplay builders, and general-purpose 3D printing, OVERTURE’s PLA delivers reliable performance and vibrant results. It’s especially good for decorative prints or detailed models. Not quite industrial-grade, but it’s consistent, beginner-friendly, and well-priced. I’ll definitely be buying more colors from this brand.

Beautiful deep purple with a nice finish

I love the color of this purple filament! It’s a nice, deep purple and is maybe just a touch lighter than the 3D print shown in the product listing. To me, it looks closer to the color shown on the spool next to the print. It prints well, as I’ve come to expect from OVERTURE filament. I also really like that this particular color isn’t too shiny. I prefer more of a matte look for my finished prints, and this gives me the finish I’m looking for. Overall, I’m really happy with the color and print quality and would definitely buy this color again.

Reliable, Clean Prints Every Time – My Go-To PLA

I absolutely love the OVERTURE PLA Filament. It prints consistently with great layer adhesion and very few issues. The finish comes out clean and smooth, and I haven’t had problems with clogging or tangling. It’s also easy to work with across different settings, which makes it reliable for both quick prints and longer jobs. For the price and quality, this has become my go-to PLA.

Works good looks good, what more do you need?

I didn't like this stuff at first, called it unusable, hid it away.... ... But really, it just didn't like my printer. I don't know why-perhaps they got into an argument, a bad relationship? I will never know, but fast forward to my new printer, and I have no complaints. Is it the best pla I've ever used? No. But it's by and far cheaper and really, I've paid more for much worse. With my new printer it comes out wonderfully, isn't brittle like some colors are, and is overall more fun than plain white. Leaves a bit of a smell but it's in line with what I've heard some pla makes. Not unpleasant, and faint enough I forget about it after a minute or so. Overall I've fallen back in life with it.

Re-roll spool before use.

The filament is great, the roll onto the spool isn't. I buy these in bulk so I have many spools at once. About 1/4 of the way onto the roll the filament binds onto itself. I have to unroll the spool about halfway until it isn't binding anymore.
