This rooftop cargo bag was a lifesaver for our family road trip! We needed extra storage for our SUV, and this waterproof cargo carrier was perfect. The 21 cubic feet capacity gave us plenty of space for suitcases, camping gear, and even some bulky items. I got the VENTURE 4TH Rooftop Cargo Carrier for a road trip with my husband and baby, and it was a total lifesaver. As any parent knows, babies come with a lot of stuff...extra blankets, a travel crib mattress, diapers, formula, even our small cooler and duffel bags, and this carrier held it all with no problem. We don’t have a roof rack, but the straps worked great and kept it secure the whole way. We hit rain, and I was honestly so relieved that everything stayed completely dry. The material feels extremely durable, and the weatherproof zipper flap does its job effectively. It definitely freed up space inside the car, which made a huge difference for our sanity. Folding it back into the storage bag takes a minute, but that’s expected with something this size. For any mom doing a family trip, this is absolutely worth it. I’d recommend it in a heartbeat!

It’s horrible. Hard to use, floppy looks bad, waste of money. I’m afraid to use it on any trips that it might rain because I’m sure it will leak. But that’s my mistake, I didn’t go with my gut feeling and go with the hard case one. Just go with the Thule!! Don’t do it! Update: so I got an email from company saying how sorry they were I wasn’t happy with their product. That was really nice. Said they wanted to refund me and hoped I would be willing to try other products they had. Totally amazing since I wasn’t expecting anything, right. Well the refund never came and was completely ghosted by them. O well.

Just tested this out for our first trip, >1,000 miles total. The initial setup takes a few minutes to get, but after doing it once it’s fairly easy. I would say that loading, strapping/securing can be done in about 30 minutes once you’re experienced. The bag definitely didn’t leak, even during several downpours. Was not noisy overall - I found that a flapping sound on the highway was easily remedied by simply folding some of the forward edge of the foam roof protector mat under the luggage bag. One hiccup I ran into: upon arrival on vacation, our parking garage clearance was tight - had to unload and remove the luggage bag on the spot! This was about a 10 minute process, but not overly difficult. I would recommend that shorter users (relative to your vehicle height) consider bringing a folding stepstool or step ladder to be able to easily access the roof when loading and unloading. Overall, a great roof bag. Seems durable, straightforward to install and load.

This worked great for our trip from Oklahoma to Colorado and back. The only thing we noticed wrong when we got back was one of the straps and started to fray. It held tight, wasn’t loud, and kept our stuff dry.
