Our MaxxHaul 50" x 22" Premium Folding Aluminum Cargo Carrier is constructed from extruded aluminum material that is durable and lightweight and easy-to- install. Unit will come with the basket already asssembled and just need to attach the heavy duty steel frame under support with a 2" x 2" hitch shaft to fit standard Class III and IV hitch receivers. This folding cargo carrier was very easy to install and very sturdy. Only thing I’d recommend adding is a slide hitch tightening bracket, this will eliminate any movement between the slide/receiver when loaded.

Great, nice size, lightweight. I replaced the pins with locking pins, Highly recommended since the bolt is easy to undo. I put around 450 lbs on it and it survived a 5 hour drive. Good to me

Perhaps the folding and non folding carriers are made by different people because unlike the reviews by others, the folding carrier came in just a few pieces. If you need instructions to put this together you might not have enough common sense to be driving. A Phillips head screw driver, a ten mm socket, a 4 mm Allen wrench and either a 1 inch socket and/or an adjustable wrench. The base comes already assembled and has reinforced aluminum edges. The black bracket gets attached to the base with four nuts and bolts. A ten mm socket and a 4 mm Allen wrench is helpful with that. The folding part is attached to the bracket with a nut and bolt either with a 1 inch socket and an adjustable wrench or two adjustable wrenches. There are two red reflectors that need a Phillips head screwdriver. That’s it! Comes with two pins also. I’ll probably put a receiver clamp on it to keep it from wiggling around. I certainly ain’t a lucky person, but it took a half hour from taking it out of the box to having it on the back of my vehicle. It’s sturdy enough to hold me sitting in it and I’m an old beer drinking, donut eating, retired cop. I read the stories of others nightmares but this definitely was easier than changing the oil. ... show more

This is just what I needed. It’s really sturdy and was easy to assemble. I will only use this on my camper to haul firewood and maybe a cooler, but in the fall I will put it on my truck to haul a deer. I don’t really ever intend to put a whole 500 pounds on it, but was impressed it could hold that weight. It weighs half the amount of the steel one I previously used. order was late in arriving!!!!!!!!!! opened box and started to put unit together only then did I realize that the unit looked like it was already put together and then taken apart, the sides had scratches all over, the deflectors were already installed, and the sides of the unit were marred and marked., I know that the unit will get scratched and marred from use but not before I have a chance to use it. bad product ... show more

I loved how easy it was to put together and use. The option to fold it up when not hauling suitcases once arrive is nice! I also loved that it allows me to open my cargo hatch due to providing enough distance out from my bumper!! Highly recommend!
