I just completed a 2 month 8,000 mile trip and the rack and bag performed exceptionally well. I had no issues with the rack at all and despite going through some torrential rains the bag never leaked once. The zipper with the velcro fold over performed exactly how I needed. Assembly wasn't difficult at all. Knowing I wanted it to last I did a few minor additions by adding some rust guard to the weld locations and applying some sealant to the joints and any openings. It also spray painted the panels to match the color of my jeep. This didn't take any extra time and added a nice little customization and protection. The whole thing came together easily and was up on the roof without trouble. Loading was a bit trickier due to the height but the bag fully unzipping around the edges with a heavy duty zipper made it pretty simple to get loaded. I routinely haul kayaks and canoes on the roof and am used to some noise gping down the highway, I was glad to hear that even at highway speeds the rack was quiet aside from some expected noises. ... show more

Update: definitely take a hit to your MPG. Driving the Texas interstates at 70-80 mph I’ve seen a sip of about 4-5 mpg with this on my renegade. So I bought the 43 inch version for my 2019 jeep renegade. If you want to use the 43 inch you you will need to either place your aftermarket cross bars inside the mounting openings or you will need to order the 64 inch model if you wish to use the mounting holes on the jeep rack to mount your aftermarket crossbars. The instructions are horrible for this. I would highly recommend just YouTubing the install as there are several great guides out there. Rack fit the bright lines aftermarket crossbars well. If you do the 43 inch then you can buy another cross bar and mount a kayak j hook cradle onto it and strap a kayak in the cradle and strap the front of the kayak onto the basket for short trips. Overall for the price it’s a good quality rack. Rusting wasn’t much of a concern since we don’t have a ton of rain her in central texas. If you live in a wet climate then I would recommend getting some rust oleum or bedliner spray and coating it. Or you can always just take it off in the winter and clean it and treat it then. ... show more

I like this rack a lot! It seems sturdy once I figured out how to put it together. With all 'Made in China' products, there seems to be an ever present issue with instructions... A few steps were left out and being a mechanic, I figured them out. The drawings in the little booklet they give you are very small and difficult to see. I recommend making these drawings much larger. Some of the parts are misnamed--perhaps language translation issues-- such as the "Foam cushions," on the clamps that are actually molded hard plastic. I cannot attest to rust issues yet, or mileage. I will revisit with updates. ... show more

I purchased the Arksen 64"x39" roof rack with the waterproof carrier. The installation was a breeze and took less than 30 minutes. The Arksen roof rack and carrier were great to free up space inside the SUV for longer trips! I had a minor issue with one of the buckles and reported it to Arksen customer service. The response was prompt and the issue was quickly resolved! I am pleased with the product and most importantly the customer service. I wanted a little basket on my camping trailer to store my firewood and propane fire pit. This thing fit the bill with its smaller size. No issues with rust as some of the others have found but I also don’t live in a rainy climate.

Great product! I put it together myself. ONLY issue was the wingnuts/long screws were a BIT long and scratched my sun/moonroof upon the electric opening. Changed a screw in front to a shorter/appropriate length and it’s a hit! I actually could’ve gone bigger! Happy as a starter to head out across the states! ... show more

For a simple not too expensive rooftop this works fine..assembly is not for beginners but isn't advanced either. Sturdiness is a bit give and take as there are flimsy areas coupled with strong supports. I wouldn't buy again but that is due to the hard use I needed for my roof rack.
