  • If you're on the fence, give it a try! It's REALLY a lot better than I expected.
Style: 31.5-inch 6K (6016 x 3384) LuxPixel AGLR...
FYI at the time of writing: If you register this monitor with Asus (in the US and some other countries) they will extend your warranty from 3 years to 5. Definitely go search for the asus proart 5 year warranty! (there is both an international page and a US page, so if your search takes you to the international one, keep looking). At the time I bought this monitor, it was on sale and somewhere between 30-50% cheaper than the other 6k 32" monitors. I was really apprehensive about Asus offering such a deal. I'd seen some people complain about them, and honestly in the pictures it looks like a boring business Dell monitor from 2014, but every youtuber that reviewed this Asus seemed to like it more than the other monitors. So I bought it. And it arrived 2 days later. The unboxing was pretty nice actually, Asus packages this in a really nice suitcase style box that opens just like the ones that came with the Apple Cinema Displays I bought way back in the day. You still have to put the two pieces of the stand together (it's tool-less, one screw that has a handle for you to twist). The pictures do not do this thing justice. It looks REALLY NICE on my desk. The antiglare coating is also very anti-reflective and compared to my other matte monitors there's almost no light reflection at all. Connectivity-wise: This has 2 USB-A and 2 USB-C ports meant for connecting peripherals. In addition, there are a USB-C 4.0 (thunderbolt) upstream port, displayport, and HDMI connectors to connect your computer(s). I used the included USB-C 4.0 cable to connect it to my Mac Studio. Powering it on, I was greeted with exactly the kind of thing I wanted to see: The picture quality is like my macbook pro screens, except on a way bigger monitor. The colors are rich. The default (full) brightness is way too high lol. The pixel density is just fantastic. Graphics and pictures and video all look amazing. Editing photos on this is a joy. I don't know why anyone would pay more. This was a fantastic value! I'd highly highly recommend this to anyone. Also it's been like 2 months and it still works great over thunderbolt. ... show more

  • Really excellent picture
Style: 31.5-inch 6K (6016 x 3384) LuxPixel AGLR...
I like this monitor so much I bought two! This is my first HighDPI / HDR monitor, so maybe I'm easily wowed, but I waited a long time for something to come out this big at a relatively low price. The screen looks amazing. I've run it both on Windows and on Linux with lots of success. The USB ports are a bit funky but they work right. There's 3 utility ports on the monitor: two on the bottom, one of then back. They are fed by one of two uplinks, either USB or Thunderbolt/USB4. Depending on which of the uplink options you use you might have some idle ports on the back for the other uplink. ... show more

  • Quality Control Issues
Style: 31.5-inch 6K (6016 x 3384) LuxPixel AGLR...
Quality control issues with the screen. I purchased two monitors and one flickered occasionally. Neither worked well with an M5 MacBook Pro. There were constant connectivity issues and the screens would not wake from sleep mode once connected. I have not had this issue with other monitors I’ve used.

  • Great monitor right out of the box
Style: 31.5-inch 6K (6016 x 3384) LuxPixel AGLR...
I'm really enjoying this monitor with my new Mac Studio. I could not afford the Studio monitors from Apple but wanted a 32" high res option at a "reasonable" price. The Asus ProArt fits the bill perfectly. At $1200 it's an affordable 6k option. To be fair, it's not as bright as the 27" iMac the Studio replaced but with the Thunderbolt 4 connection it works well. Working with Lightroom and Final Cut Pro it's great. I'd highly recommend as an affordable option if you want a large screen with high resolution. ... show more

  • Excellent 6K monitor for Mac work, coding, and productivity
Style: 31.5-inch 6K (6016 x 3384) LuxPixel AGLR...
This has been an excellent monitor for my home office and one of the best value 6K displays I have used. My setup is focused on work, coding, and productivity, not gaming, so 60Hz is completely fine for me. What matters most is sharp text, Retina-like clarity, and color quality, and this monitor delivers. The text sharpness is outstanding. For coding, reading, terminal work, and general productivity, everything looks incredibly crisp and clean. Retina quality was my top priority, and this monitor absolutely feels worth it for that alone. I use it with two MacBooks (M3 Pro for work and M4 Pro personal) at the same time. The built-in KVM works surprisingly well for this kind of setup. It is not perfect, but it works well enough that I returned a separate external KVM and just used the monitor directly. PBP also works well when needed. Another big plus is color. The M Model-P3 profile matches very nicely with my MacBook display, which helps the whole setup feel consistent when moving between the laptop screen and the monitor. The only downside is that input switching and wake-up are a little slow. It is not instant, but it is manageable and easy enough to live with once the setup is dialed in. The built-in speakers are also weak, but that was not a big issue for me since I already use external speakers. If you want a sharp 6K display for a Mac-based home office without paying Apple Studio Display money, this is a very strong choice. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • The Best and Worst 6K Display.
Style: 31.5-inch 6K (6016 x 3384) LuxPixel AGLR...
UPDATE: Got a (mostly) good panel. Backlight still not 100% even. 90%+. No crazy blue hues. Took 2 returns at Best Buy, 3 at Amazon (I’m sorry) ORIGINAL: This is the best 6K screen between ASUS, LG, and Samsung due to the best brightness, best colors, and least aggressive matte coating, and best viewing angles. And price. The only thing this gets beat by is Samsung, Samsung 6K has 165Hz refresh rate. Arguable if it matters but I digress. This is the best *when you get a good one*. I need two screens. First one: Bought, used for a few months, had to get repaired under warranty because developed blue splotches. Received the repaired monitor with terrible backlight bleed. Second one: Purchased and returned twice. (First) Arrived with a defective backlight in the middle - dark column of light visible with striations. (Second) Arrived with clusters of dead pixels (5-10 pixels each cluster). Frustrating to say the least because the Samsung has decent colors, GREAT refresh rate, GREAT sharpness, but the brightness shifts aggressively at any angle other than straight on. Too distracting for office work. LG is even worse. Uneven colors all across the screen and a VERY aggressive matte coating on that screen. And overpriced at $2k. and crap quality plastic body. The ASUS is also plastic but is built better. So sticking it out with ASUS but need to play the panel lottery which is frustrating to have to do and frustrating (I'm sure) for retailers as well. ... show more

  • Great Compatibility with M5 MacBook Air
Style: 31.5-inch 6K (6016 x 3384) LuxPixel AGLR...
I use this with a MacBook M5 Air. First, the display looks terrific! I did do research and for the most part, upon receipt it was fairly accurate. I worried about blue light bleed thru and matt screen issues. However, none of those have arisen for me. This has been a great improvement over my 5K, LG 27" screen purchased nearly 10 years ago which had begun ghosting images that remained for several minutes and recently captured an insect in the middle of the screen that was in my direct view. My only disappointment has been that the 3rd USB-C thunderbolt port that supports a 2nd display with charging actually only supports a 2nd display and any charging from it, thus no direct charging of peripheral devices such as Bluetooth trackpads or keypads ... thus for me it is useless. I have to say that the speaker quality is poor. I use an old Bose bluetooth speaker semi-permanently connected which has far better in its sound quality. There is no webcam, but I am able to use my iPhone as a substitute as well as other inputs for microphone for the rare Zoom or FaceTime occurrences. Overall, the quality of the display is very good, and the compatibility to a MacBook Air M5 (or similar) is excellent. ... show more

Style: 31.5-inch 6K (6016 x 3384) LuxPixel AGLR...
The Ultimate Image BEAST! Superior Image Quality. Unmatched. I use this for content creation as well as financial and scientific modeling including local LLM modeling and the clarity and color are as realistic as the the print and copy. Graphics are a wow factor. The Thunderbolt connectivity along with all the other ports makes this THE HUB and even direct charging with a 65W port. ... show more
