Old garage door was well weathered (see first photo of similar look from my next door neighbor) and I replaced it with this new keypad door. It was very easy to install taking less than an hour to do so with the only challenge being how to determine if I needed to change handle direction (I did and it was dead easy; just not very clear until I placed the new one onto the door and then saw I had to swap it the other way). This product allows for multiple codes plus an overall master one so it’s easy to provide it to family members to they can easily access the door from the outside without having to know the master or our regular code-values we use. We replaced the old door handle because it was weathered and also because our nephew was stuck once, unable to get into the garage and we were out of the country and there was no easy way to get him a key to get into the (old) garage side door. My neighbor (same one who’s garage door is shown in the above first photo) after seeing my new keypad door lock is now going to purchase one to replace his door as it too as shown is very weathered. ... show more

We own a townhome complex (12 units) and I have been trying to talk my husband into upgrading to these because they are a "high end" feature without being expensive. BONUS: We don't have to rekey! My husband's #1 concern was battery life, and tenants locking themselves out in the middle of the night. So I asked one of our long term and trusted tenants if I could experiment on her and she happily agreed. 1) Very easy to install - I have installed many door locks but never a keycode one, but it was even easier it seems. 2) No problem at all to program and it doesn't need wifi, which is super important as we don't have a group wifi account at this complex or an on-site office to connect it to. I just followed the instructions (which have pictures!) on how to change the master code, which I wrote down in my phone (each unit will get their own master). Then I followed the instructions on creating a new user code (for the tenant). And she also wanted one for visitors that we can change when necessary.     • Great value for the price point

This seems to be a good choice if you're looking for a keyless deadbolt and handle set without any WiFi functions. I would not expect to see it on the door of Fort Knox but the quality of construction seems reasonable for the price point. The styling, fit and finish looks cosmetically good. The installation was pretty easy and typical of what you might expect with a change of locks of any type. Degree of difficulty probably depends more on the condition of your old door and how well the old hardware was installed than anything else. Here are a few tips that might make it go easier for you: Make sure the deadbolt remains unlocked during the install process. When installing the strike plate be sure to test its best position so that the dead bolt will pass thru the strike plate and into the frame without any resistance. Once you install the strike and if it is "off" a little bit it can be hard to correct once the holes are drilled and screws in. i made this mistake and had to file down one edge of the strike plate down a little bit to get good clearance. Maybe your old strike plate will be the same size as the new one but in my case it was missing an old strike plate completely. The programming steps may have you scratching your head a little bit at first until you get the hang of it. Mistakes i made were to miss key the new master code starting out. No need to panic. If you make a mistake it is easy to re-set it to the factory state so you can start over and try again. i had to do that 2 or 3 times until I got the hang of how it works. I felt that was my fault for not following the directions close enough. I have only had it for one day so i can't speak to its durability so time will tell. Back up key is good peace of mind in case something does go wrong with the electronics. I liked it well enough to buy a second one for another door. ... show more

Sometimes when you order a product online that you have never used before, you are skeptical from the beginning. But, this product is a rare exception. The packaging was solid and well crafted. Each of the two components (the lever handles and the keypad) come packed in their own box. The instructions were clear and concise and came with easy to interpret diagrams. The installation was a breeze. Off came the old hardware, and in went the new ones. There was no need to reconfigure the door. The options for unlocking/locking are amazing. Not only can you configure different combinations, but also you can set exactly to the second when the deadbolt will relook the door. If there were six stars, I would give them that.     • Really nice looking - even I could program it & now don't know how we lived with an old school lock

So I had an old rusty deadbolt and lever lock set that broke and I was looking for a replacement, and evidently old school lock sets like that are harder to come by. There were not that many available and those that were had delivery dates further out. I had not intended to buy and electronic lock but this was on sale for a great price and I needed something now and it looked great. BF asked me why the heck I got an electric one (see above), he installed it easily and I (even the technophobe I am) programmed it for us. only took me three times (very easy I just made a mistake the first two times. Did not need an electr5ic lock but now we love it and ar4e very spoiled as we can unlock or lock it without the key and just with our knuckle even when we have things in our hand. This product was SO easy to install. After having to return a previous product from another company that was either defective or just didn’t explain the install process well enough, I was so hesitant, but this exceeded my expectations! It took me about 30 minutes to install and program and now it works flawlessly. No more worried about my sim getting locked out! This also looks great on my front door. Since I have only had it for a day, I can’t speak to battery life or how it holds up to that cold Minnesota winters, but based on reviews, I am hopeful it will have a long life. ... show more
