I also put a mat under it. It only took a few tries before they figured out the door. I don't plan to collapse mine for travel, but appreciate the option. Bought this in hopes it would help with my cats overspray over the back of the wall of the litter box and in theory this did somewhat work. Ran into the issue of where the bottom tray pulls out it just leaks through the seam there. Also if you want to use the pull out tray you can't fill the litter very high at all without it all scraping off and ending up on the floor. Overall, it is not a great product. I ended up buying another one for $80 that was all one complete thing and the top rolls back to clean and I am much happier with that. Skip this product spend a little bit more that won't cause a huge mess every time you clean it.
