The treadmill works very well and is great for the home. It slides under a bed and we pull it out to exercise while watching tv. Perfect for our family. The speed is just right and goes up faster than we use, because we are just "walkers". Not sure how fast runners go! We had an issue and received excellent customer service. I've only had the unit for a couple of weeks and am pleased. I've put 10 miles on it. The things that attracted me to the unit were its compact size, robust weight limit relative to other comparables (265lbs limit), compelling price, and good reviews. In terms of "good reviews", I noted that of the 4,900 or so reviews, less than 10% were 1-, 2-, or 3-star. The other 90%+ were 4- or 5-star. That is a very good ratio compared to similar units on Amazon. I lubed the track right away (with track lube included with the unit) to avoid some of the problems experienced by folks giving the unit a 1-, 2-, or 3-star rating. I was careful to watch for track slippage as that was noted in the 1/2/3-star group. The belt did slip to the left on my unit, but the simple adjustment required (done following the clear instructions in the manual and with an enclosed tool) I've had no further trouble with the track. Other 1/2/3-star complaints were: --that it is "heavy". I disagree with that, it's about 55lbs and has wheels on the front allowing for easy moving around. If the unit were 30lbs people would be calling it "flimsy". --that it is loud. I disagree with that, too. I have a decibel meter app on my phone which clocked it at 45dB running at its fastest speed. That's between the hum of your refrigerator and rain falling, and well below two people chatting. --if you throw the box away, Amazon won't take it back. Uhhmmm, okay. --the remote is poor, eats batteries at a crazy rate, stops working and the unit cannot be used without the remote. This one has some validity. The remote is uninspiring in size and weight, but I've had no trouble yet with it egregiously consuming batteries and it's never failed to work. If the remote did go out, it is true that you cannot use the unit. One thought I did have about complaints that the "remote stopped working" is that the unit has an On/Off switch on the front. You cannot see it unless you bend over and look for it. The second time I used the unit I forgot about the On/Off and "my remote didn't work". Remembering the On/Off switch I flipped it on and voila! the remote worked. I'll update this in a couple of months and after six months to keep folks updated. ... show more
