This skimmer means business. It’s simple to use, easy to attach, and does exactly what it promises: it cleans the heck out of the surface of your pool. Just make sure your pool pump has enough power to create the vortex effect, once it’s going, nothing on the surface stands a chance. Bugs? Gone. Leaves? Sucked into the abyss. Pollen? Vanished. It’s not fancy. It’s just effective. And honestly, that’s all I needed.

Okay to start off the suction wasn't strong enough, I had to close off one out of two of my suctions from the salt water sand filter I have for it to work at least a little bit better. It's not long enough to submerge all the way into the water of my pool. It's also not catching a lot of trash and small bugs that are floating past. I'm not happy not even for the low price that it was. I will be be returning the skimmer

The short hose from the skimmer to the filter inlet only lasted one season. I had to replace it with a section of hot tub hose which has lasted two seasons so far. But the reason I bought this again is that the red tab that sets the skimmer highth also became UV/chlorine damaged and broke. Also, we put a "produce freshness" bag on the skimmer basket to help trap the gnats we have here.

This is a pretty decent skimmer. The hose likes to come un done a lot and and it can be tricky attaching it but once you get it it works pretty decent it does pull the debri from the pool.

This item seems almost useless, after some research, I understood its use and the fact that the performance is based on the pump you own. The instructions could use some detailed instructions. Other than that, it was still easy to install. Made from plastic, I hope it withstands the AZ sun. I didn’t find any broken pieces. Immediately, I did see results. Having cleaned out the bucket once, I wish there was a better strainer to catch all the bugs being sucked it. I also haven’t noticed any skimmer with a mesh bucket (probably because it would clog up to easily). Overall, it does its job. If it’s not doing its job, it might be time to get a new pump.
