My Costco Bestway pool did not come equipped with a surface skimmer. After an entire season of manual skimming I thought I would try this little retrofit skimmer. WOW! Yes, its a little finicky. Yes, it's not the sturdiest piece of equipment, but once I got it dialed in, in only a couple of hours it had skimmed every last bit of floating debris, bugs and all, off of the surface of my pool. Instructions a little lacking (as usual), but somewhat helpful. Comes with three mounting brackets so you have to determine which one works best for your pool (I have a tubular frame). Seems to be more stable at the higher end of the mount, so I adjusted my pool fill level accordingly. Yes, I had to block the second filter inlet to get enough suction to make the thing work effectively (used an inlet plug that came with the pool). But it looks like I won't have to do much if any manual skimming from here on out. Pretty good for under thirty bucks.

Works great and super simple to set up. My use was for a 18 foot above ground pool with a steel tube frame. Yes the unit is all plastic but you don’t have to get crazy with tightening it down. It’s super easy enough to just pull out while the kids are playing so it doesn’t break and just put it back in before you’re done for the evening.

I am very happy with how effectively this surface skimmer clears out debris and how well it fits my above-ground pool setup. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. The only downside is that the durability is slightly lacking, and I find myself needing to replace it every year. However, given the very reasonable price point, I don’t mind the annual replacement. It's a solid, budget-friendly buy that keeps the pool clean.

Works great, specifically with the Bestway above ground pool that has DIAMOND shaped bars as the top ring. I have two inlets and an upgraded 3,000GPH pump, surface was crystal clear overnight and we get tons of bugs around this time of year. The basket is a little small, but I imagine that helps with more suction power as opposed to other brands that I have ordered over the years of "above ground pooling". Super easy setup if you've dealt with these skimmers before and it comes with several adapters to swap things out if necessary. Some people mentioned it floating up, yes this will happen if you don't CRANK down the screws that hold it in place and make sure the hose is clear of any air. I highly recommend and the price wasn't bad at all!

Works Amazing!!! Highly recommend.. I have the 22ft pool from Costco and let me tell you! The top of the pool is sparkling clean! I live in the High Desert here in Cali and we have nothing but dirt, before this product it was dirty and nasty, now clean ans blue! Love it

I really love how clean this skimmer keeps the top of my pool water. I use it with the pump with the pool and it works great. The only thing that I don’t love about it is the plastic clamp. I’m constantly adjusting it back into place. It could be a lot more sturdy. I would buy it again, it was inexpensive for the actual skimmer and it works great at keeping my pool clean

Definitely worth the money! Make sure you get the filter socks sold by the same seller to pick up all the small particles in the pool as well. The basket works well for larger stuff like leaves, but not the tiny bugs or the dirt. See picture of the filter sock at work. Super easy to set up and use. I would suggest if your pool has two filter inputs, that you only use one.

Using this in my above ground pool, it does keep the top water clear of debris I live where I have a lot of oak trees and no screen over my pool so I’m cleaning it out 2 to 3 times daily. The only problem I have is sometimes the leaves get between the basket and the plastic container to where the water intake is, and the leaves get stuck, allowing the leaves to get through sometimes and clog up right at the pool wall. I have also had the little rubber valves come out and have had to replace them. I feel that it’s a good product without having to cut a hole in the side of my pool.
