Our home is in the Phoenix, AZ area and we experience Haboobs (dust storms). Our new pool was completed on July 1, 2023. The pool has an in floor popup cleaning system. While this sytem works well, it is incapable of removing the fine particles mainly because the finer particles get stuck in the low areas between the pebbles of the Pebble Tec flooring. The only way to remove the dust is to sweep the pool multiple times while the pool is running until you've stirred enough stuff up that it eventually gets sucked into the pool's filter system. On that note, I purchased this vacuum to see if I can reduce the amount of time needed to remove the dust from the pool after a Haboob. I also purchased, on the reviews of other's, the ultra fine filter liners. Firstly, the vacuum is simple to use. Honestly for me, the most difficult thing to on this product is plugging in the charger. It is oddly shaped and is a bit awkaward to get positively engagaed. The amount of suction created by the vacuum is enough to where the vaccum will stay engaged on the vertical walls. My pool/spa combo is ~15K gallons, and the battery lasted easily for its debut run while I didn't notice any reduction in power for the roughly 15 minutes it ran. First impressions. I was shocked by the amount of debris that was captured in the filter bag. I didn't even try to clean the fine filter liner bag. Five came in the package so I just pitched this one. The vacuum's filters did a good job at trapping at what I would condsider >90% of the silt. As some reviews commented you can see the ultra fine silt being blown back into the water, but the amount removed versus the amount bypassed is heavily weighed on the removed side making the total efficiency worth it. Longevity is an unknown at this point in time. I did have an issue with a rectangular piece of plastic that resides in the "foot" of the vacuum popping out and being captured in the filter bag. I am not sure what its purpose is, but probably not going to do anything in the grand scheme of things. I see the "foot" as being a consumable, but there is no part# listed in the manual, which, could make this a pita at a later date. Also, the main filter needs to be cleaned after use. In my case the fine filter bag liner took the abuse. The main filter was easily cleaned with the spray feature in the kitchen sink. In the end, this vacuum will easily reduce the time needed to remove the junk blown into the pool post a Haboob. My first impressions are positive and at this point in time I would recommend this widget. ... show more

  • Awesome vacuum
We have an above ground pool with a sand filter pump that uses salt to chlorinate the pool. First time we have used one and so far the difference in cleanliness is huge. We decided to get a new vacuum with better suction to make our lives easier. We ordered the pool blaster max which came without a pole. It is hand held and requires a charge to work. No issues with the charger. But only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it did not include a pole. The part that the pole attaches to on the vacuum is not standard either. It was bigger than the pole on our skimmer or previous vacuum. So we had to order the pole separately. Once the pole arrived we used it and couldn’t believe how much sand it sucked up! It was less than five minutes and the whole bag was filled. It was the fine sand that our other vacuum could not pick up. My husband was thrilled. We highly recommend this product! We also purchased replacement net bags specifically for fine dirt and sand. Worked perfectly!!! ... show more

  • A Electric Pool Vacuum That Really Works! Loving it.
Best electric/battery powered pool vacuum I’ve ever used. So much easier to set up and use than the cumbersome hose vacuum on my pump, and it’s leagues better than those older battery-powered vacuums that eat up D batteries. This baby is rechargeable, so plug it in for a 2-3 hours and it’ll be ready to use for several cleanings. It attaches to a standard size pool telescoping pole. If you don’t have one, I’d recommend getting that too. The vacuum comes with 2 different types of filter bags. One for leaves and larger debris, and one for finer particles like dirt, sand, and algae. They can be washed out and reused over and over. This vacuum actually works very well! It has good power behind it. It’s a bit more money to put down than I initially wanted, but it was well worth it. You get what you pay for with this one, so if you have a dirty pool bottom, and you’re on the fence about getting this vacuum, just get it. You’ll be glad you did. ... show more

  • Perfect support to robot cleaner
So we have a nice robot pool bottom cleaner. But we live where leaves constantly fall into the pool and sink to the bottom, especially now that it's fall. The robot can't handle it: get's choked up with leaves and loses suction. Lots of stuff doesn't even get sucked up after that. I'd try to hand skim the bottom first with a net. Talk about FRUSTRATING!! More than half the time the leaves would just move out of the path of the net and swirl around behind it no matter how slowly you moved it. And the weight lifting it out of the water from water in the pole was excruciating with a bad shoulder. The Pool Blaster was the one and only answer to our problem. But let's get this out of the way: plugging in the charger to the device is not as easy as it looks. It will take several tries to get it to lock in. After that, everything else is a breeze. Put it in the water, turn it on, let it sink to the bottom, and then just leisurely and gently push and pull it along. Gotta go slow! Suction power is not astounding. Lift it up a little and let it settle back down over large leaves or small piles of them. They are gone! No having to lift it out till your done. Doesn't weigh a ton. Snap out the net and rinse it out. HINT: turn the net sock inside out to more easily rinse it out (they don't tell you this). Now the robot comes behind and works unbelievably better. There's hardly any debris in the traps. I'm praying this unit will last. Because it is literally a weight off my shoulders. Get it. ... show more
