    • Works great once suction started working
I would recommend for anyone who is trying to vacuum algae from their pool. We purchased 2 different battery-powered pool vacuums to eliminate dead algae from our pool. Both had nets that were not fine enough so the algae simply recirculated back into the pool. This Flowclear worked great because it goes through the tube into our sand filter. It took a minute to get the suction going, but once it was on, it was perfect. For the price, you can't beat it. TIP: Make sure to let any standing air in the tubes out as you connect it to the filter. Ours has a hex-shaped valve that we could release to remove any air.     • Sturdier than expected
The media could not be loaded. I was surprised this felt as sturdy as it did. For $45 I didn’t know what to expect with some mixed reviews. The actual head is weighted so it doesn’t rise to the surface like my stick vacuum does. Pole is very sturdy extends quite far and still has strength to hold added pressure for forward strokes. When pulling back it tilts back so it appears you’ll only be able to use it while pushing vs back pulling. Hose clamps were useless for attaching canister to head (couldn’t get the spinner attached and when trying to turn it it would hit the canister). And the canister did fall off a couple times during use. I just took it off and hooked the hose up directly. I was surprised at how much was in there … as it all floated back in the pool 🤦♀️ Rookie mistake. I’ll find a bigger clamp no biggie. As I’m shorter I’ll probably use this while I’m inside the pool for better control. As my video shows I’m dealing with some thick settled algae. it’s picked it up better than my stick pool vacuum did. I should add that in the video I’m using one hand so the downward pressure is much better with two hands obviously😂 I have a summer waves pool with the original pump attached at the bottom of the skimmer. (I have upgraded to a sand filter (intex 14” 2800 gph) the flat kind of square piece is exactly what attracted me to this kit. I have a 22 foot pool and was able to extend to the middle of the pool with no problem. ... show more

    • Very cheap hose
The hose is ribbed giving it strength; however, in two places along its length it has gaps in the ribs, making it smooth plastic. The pressure of the pump collapses the hose at those areas while trying to vacuum. The flow is reduced so low, the vacuum stops picking up dirt. Very poor design.     • Not worth it - even when it was $44
Works okay. Bought 3 years ago for $44 and its now $160+ What a ripoff. The hose cracked and a replacement has been out of stock for what seems like forever. Don't bother with it. Find something better.

I ordered this primarily for the intake/outlet adaptors with practically zero expectation of receiving a well made product at this price. I was very pleasantly surprised! I recently replaced another brand of pool with a Coleman/Bestway. Over the last 10 years I've bought supplies and accessories from my local pool supply business as well as inexpensive ones from big box retailers. This set is WELL worth the money! The vacuum head does not have wheels (relatively standard on vinyl above ground vacuums) but it is VERY NICELY WEIGHTED! This is important to me because it allows the vacuum head to maintain steady contact with the pool floor without the user exerting a lot of pressure to keep it down and in contact. I had already purchased a heavy duty 27' hose from pool supply, but this one came with a hose that's big enough for my pool. I spent twice as much on my "premium hose" than I did this entire kit. Granted, the hose that comes with this kit is much lighter weight, and you might consider upgrading the hose later if you want a heavier one. The pole that comes with this kit is as heavy duty as the premium pole I paid $28 for last year. The intake and outlet pieces (the blue pieces included) allow me to connect any 1.25" hose to the intake and outlet on my Coleman Bestway pool opening options then to use all sorts of accessories from various manufacturers. I would say with this kit you're getting at least $60 worth of pool accessories, maybe more. I hesitated because of the price being so low, but this is a solid kit and with a decade of trying different stuff in various price ranges I don't hesitate at all in recommending it. Absolutely love this vacuum. We have always had one of those 20$ ones that attaches to the hose and has a net. Unfortunately this year we got a killer algae bloom. Finally managed to get it killed but the bottom on the pool was covered in dirt and dead algae that our other vacuum could not pick up. Used this vacuum on the waste setting on our pump. Cleaned very thoroughly and quickly. The head does not get around the very edges of our oval pool so I just got in, detached the head, and used the hose itself to suck up the rest. 10/10 recommend. ... show more

We tried to clean our pool with it. Vacuum didn’t really suck. Size was good. Gave us an idea of what we needed. But I guess it works different for other people depending on the pump you use. The hose might not fit too we had to makeshift something
