Since this ping pong table is basically the “budget” model by Joola, I didn’t expect it to be a fine specimen of precision German engineering. However, it would have been nice if they had given the design a little more attention, or tightened up the tolerances just a bit more… Having said that, now that it’s assembled and “fine tuned”, it seems to be a great, cost effective table. I’ll go through the issues I found while assembling it - as well as the remedies. But first, some props to Amazon - the delivery was on time and there were 2 employees in the truck to make sure it was carefully delivered right into my garage. 👍 1. Skirt Pilot Holes When installing the red table skirts, the holes on the skirts didn’t line up with the pilot holes. I could have re-drilled the pilot holes in the table but I chose to extend the holes in the skirts using my drill like a router. It worked well enough. 2. Sides Overlapping When the table was assembled and the sides were folded down into playing position, they didn’t line up correctly and one overlapped onto the other. In order to fix this, the sides could be lowered down at the same time so the sides hit and pushed each other out. This was a bit of a pain and required 2 people. In order to fix it, I inserted some washers on the top bolts going into the logo panel (all 4). It took a few tries to get the right number of washers but now the sides line up with a few millimeters of space between them. 3. Legs Sticking Out The outer legs didn’t sit flush with the table when the sides were raised up. You could kind of force them in but then it would bend the other parts and it just didn’t seem good. The cause of this is the bolt holes for the connecting rod between the inside and outside legs being different distances from the table. This might only be annoying if you need the table to be more compact when folded. My solution was to measure the distance to the hole on the outside legs then drill new holes on the inside legs to match. Again, not necessary but nice to have. 4. Hinged Sides Not Flat The table top comes packaged in two parts that are each hinged and folded in half to save space in the box. After assembling the table, the hinged parts on one of the sides were not flat and flush with each other. The hinge is supposed to make it level but one side had a ~3mm step which would have been a major problem if the ball ever landed on the seam. The solution was to screw a small plate on the bottom which pulled the sides together making them level. 5. Table Halves Not Flat After all this, there was a step between table halves (where the net goes). However, this isn’t really a problem because once you clamp the net on, it evens out both sides. 👍 Overall, I’m happy with the state of the table now that I have fixed it up a bit. It’s ok for the price, if you are a recreational user. 1 it came with a damaged top, what we didn’t find out until we assembled it (which takes about four hours), but Amazon replaced it. It also had other missing parts, like the safety strip. 2. The top is made from particle board (15 mm) which would probably warp in a humid environment. I assume that’s why it comes with angle trims for the edges. However the trims are plastic so i replaced them with aluminum angle bars. 3. Some of the predrilled holes were off by about half an inch, which we found out after trying to open the legs. 4. The casters are cheap, made for office furniture, and if you need to move it on a somewhat uneven surface you need new casters. I ordered some waiting then for to arrive. 5. When you open it to use it the two top pieces would never snap into place, but you can always fix that with a little force. Easy fix. I screwed a piece of aluminum bar to one for guide. 5. The fact that it is a folding one piece is a GREAT advantage for us. Almost every day we roll it out from the garage to the driveway to play :). In all, if you don’t mind dealing with little annoyances, it is a good deal. UPDATE: Be aware, it turned out to be a very dangerous contraption! We folded up one half, the so-called “gravity lock” was in place to hold it (which is a joke btw), and while i was folding the other half, the first slammed back down. Fortunately nobody was there. The lock has about 1/2” catch, but the whole contraption is so flimsy, that while i was folding the other half of the table it disengaged. I had some industrial Velcro and i screwed a piece on the bottom holding the legs with the crossing bars together (see photos) for all four legs. At least it prevents the half of the table to slam down. Btw, for the Velcro i used a fender washer and 5/8” screws, the included 1/2” screws are short. The “safety strap” works ONLY after both halves are folded. Again, for the money, it is an ok deal for amateurs, but for a few more bucks it could have been a lot better. ... show more

Quality is very good and I'm surprised it's very easy to assemble. I was scared at first to order because of the reviews that mentioned regarding difficulty on the assembly. I am a woman and I prefer the assembly by myself and I found it really easy to assemble.

The product came in one box of quite a few pieces. It took too much time to put them together. One bolt could not be screwed in: the thread hole and the guiding hole did not in alignment. The ball some times would deflect in a different direction, if hit the center while lines.
