    • Excellent sight for the money

I mounted this on a Ruger 10/22 and am thrilled with it! It makes shooting quite a bit easier and more fun than shooting with iron sights. The dot is large (5 MOA) compared to others but really does not adversely affect accuracy. If you want competiton-level accuracy at long range, use a scope with magnification; this sight will allow you to consistently hit the target well. 5 MOA is about 5" at 100 yards, so, you would hit within a 5" circle at that range. Shooting at shorter range the circle is smaller. I love having two different colors for the dot, and each has 5 levels of brightness, so I can pick which works best in any given setting. Installation and zeroing were simple and easy. I bought this several months ago and have shot several hundred rounds with it, and it has maintained its zero. I have only used it on the 10/22 so I cannot speak for how well it performs or holds zero on other platforms. But, for a .22LR firearm, it is plenty good enough. UPDATE: I have had this sight mounted on my 10/22 for two years and a few thousand rounds. The dot is still clear and it is still zeroed; I was hitting small steel targets (maybe 3" square) at 45 yards this afternoon with no problem. ... show more

Good red dot. Durability is a question though. I had my first one for three seasons and took well care of it and the dials ended up peeling off slowly. It's light and doesn't add a lot of weight though which is nice. I like the three dots for crossbow hunting. It's easy to sight in and holds it's zero. Easy to mount too. It's getting harder to find three dot sights. The price has gone up a lot though. ... show more

This was bright and everything advertised. However, the one I received was defective. Had two dots and a shadow of Dot color off to the Left side on the inside lens. So I had to return it. But even then I could see if was an excellent Dual Color Sight.

    • Huge optic with a great field of view

This is my fourth TruGlo red dot sight, over the past two and a half years I have not had any problems with any of them. But I'm not expecting it to last forever, so I have a pre-sighted backup red dot in my range bag for that time when it dies. Financially still way ahead of the curve nonetheless. I have this particular model on a .22 handgun, and I use it for steel plate shooting, such as in the RimFire Challenge competition format. I chose this because it's huge and offers a very large field of view but most importantly is that the dot comes right up and my eye catches it instantly. In a competition if you hesitate for even a split second because you're hunting for the dot, then you've lost that stage, or at least you're not going to do well in the competition. If you're in the market and have the opportunity to get a test run on a typical small optic and can get a comparison on a large optic like this TruGlo, you absolutely should do it so you can see the difference. Just a warning that you're likely going to have a hard time finding someone running a TruGlo because for some reason they aren't popular. I've never seen anyone else running one. Funny thing, practically every modern handgun uses TruGlo sights or something extremely similar like a Williams. I run the very same optic on a 10/22 variant and it's even faster on the rifle. An optic of this size is not as important on a rifle, but I do like having the same optic on both platforms. Last notes, these TruGlo optics replaced Bushnell TRS25s and a Vortex SPARC. The SPARC's dot is bright enough, but the field of view is small and the electronics obscure my peripheral vision (both eyes open). The TRS25 has a stupidly dim dot, it's nearly invisible in full sunlight which in my view disqualifies it entirely. The green dot on the TruGlo is brighter, but I still use the red dot. I think that is just familiarity. ... show more

I bought this reflex sight after watching a review of a guy shooting various budget reflex sights on his 12g shotgun. I was expecting this thing to break or have trouble staying accurate after a few rounds of slugs. I've had a couple attachments like lasers break almost instantly from the recoil. This thing held up amazingly. First off, I barrel sighted it at home before going to the range. Apparently I did a great job because it was dead accurate at 25yrds hitting bullseyes with ease. Secondly, it handled the recoil like a champ. I shot at least 35 3" HV slugs and 25 2-3/4" 00buck and the sight barely flinched. I'm extremely happy with it. The only negative thing I can say about it is the flip up caps are a bit too easy to open (literally 1/2 lb of force is enough to tap it open) and the caps eventually slide off the sight after a ton of rounds and recoil. But that's not a big deal, you can easily take them off when shooting and slide them back on when done. My friend is buying one or two of these for his 5.56 AR and his .22 plinker. Honestly an amazing budget sight, if it can hold up after a ton of 12g rounds, it'll hold up to just about anything. ... show more

I've had this optic a few years but never used it. I sighted it in and put it away. TBH the rifle it was attached to was a problem. Had to return the gun for warranty work and bought another one because hunting season came. Eventually I bought this optic, sighted it in, and put the rifle away. Got it out last month to take to the range and the optic has gone bad - more junk. I was about to simply install iron sights - they're right here, Magpul, on my workbench ready to go, when Google mentioned the lifetime guarantee. Well that might be worth a try. I wrote them - Truglo. Told the story. Took pictures. Jumped through all the hoops AND sent them the broken unit. Don't you hate it when they are holding both your money AND your merchandise? After saying they'd respond in seven to ten BUSINESS days (which is it? seven? ten?) I wrote them. After ELEVEN days. Today they say, oh, no, we meant ten days after "processing". After they're done "processing" my request then it will be two more weeks. Please - You look at the pictures and tell me how much "processing" is needed. Because they're not saying. I'm not dealing with their uncertainty, only to get an unreliable product on their timetable. Tomorrow I go to the range with the Magpuls. If Truglo ever returns a working sight to me, I'll put it on Ebay. Typical for merch from companies in this country. ... show more
