Holosun is a fantastic optic, Yes it is made in China and they are making a very durable and top of the line product. Excellent sight picture ,very clear and durable optic, I shoot a lot and I believe this is my eighth one I have purchased for the collection of rifles I have, I own EOTECH and many others, there is nothing more durable than EOTECH but this comes pretty close when you look at it has solar so you really never worry about it working, shake awake, fog and water proof, night vision capabilities, reliable to zero every time, don’t worry about the battery and don’t forget to buy a cheap cover to go with it, you really can’t go wrong with any of the Holosun line ... show more

Great unboxing experience and easy to install. Went to a friend’s outdoor range and put over 500 rounds chambered in 556 ammo and optic never moved out of place. The functionality and placement of the buttons feels nice and tactile. Time will tell with battery life but I’ve owned other optics from Holosun and it’s never been an issue. It is lightweight and doesn’t add much weight when mounted on an AR-15. Shoutout to the staff at Holosun for engineering a superb red dot. Build quality is phenomenal and value for money, 100% worth it in my honest opinion. It is zeroed from factory and can easily hit a small steel target from 100 yards. I love that about Holosun. It has been through about 370 rounds (About 250 were bird load) in 2 days. This HE510C-GR is great overall sight. Easy to use, easy to quick mount/QD (If it ever fails). It has an Eotech style reticle which is very crisp and clear; I'm settled with the 65MOA circle only for now since it's mostly for bird and 00 bucks. Most of my other sights are green(ACOG and RMR) because I can pick up that green reticle super quick and easy. No, it doesn't lose contrast when aiming at trees, I was able to hit two skeets this afternoon when they fly into the green leaves, and the range is also surrounded by trees. The fact it is solar and battery powered are great features for my use, and the auto on/off and brightness make this sight very smart. The auto brightness only goes from your setting to the max brightness is so thoughtful (which means I can change the minimum brightness anytime). And push both buttons can turn it off if I have absolutely no need to use the sight and push anyone to awake it to the previous setting is just convenient and will help extend the super long battery life. Shotguns in general are pretty rough on the sights, I had this sighted yesterday and it held zero just fine. The titanium hood has already protected the Al body from a few light scratches. The mount is pretty solid and I did try to QD it a few times for the training and it returned to zero no problem. This sight let me use the middle position for the M4's butt stock which is nice(as the picture is shown), the full length of pull is kind long for me, the middle position gives me less felt weight and shorter overall length (which makes the aim faster and less strenuously). It just let skeet shooting more fun and relaxing, and I can teach someone totally new to shotgun super quick on how to shoot it. I mean, shoulder the gun, both eyes open, put the circle on your target, pull the trigger (safely, of course), what can be more straight forward? Especially when you have a Benelli M4 with this sight? My friend(new to guns) started hitting flying clay within 5mins from I handed him the shotgun while teaching him how to use it. ... show more

Bought this sight in 2019 for $275. It is still working great. I have had some issues over the years with picking the optic up and it not being on. Im not sure if it was to do with the settings or what but I would think it was on auto off standby mode but I had to adjust it a few times before I could trust that it would just be on instead of being off because it was in one of the modes that the sight has that affects battery comsumption. So be aware of that if your using this for duty. It has clear glass and dot. It feels durable and has lasted well with being knocked around during normal use. Easy to install, just double check the mode settings before you set and forget. Love the look of it as not many other optics have this exact footprint.
