I've gone through a few red dots and this is by far the best I have used on my handguns. The red dot (I chose red) has three different options to choose from with varying brightness levels. Solar battery backup - what?? Battery is easy to replace without having to remove the optic from the handgun - very nice!! No re-zero fun... Now for the real test - I mounted it up on a SW22 Victory (.22 handgun with a bull barrel) and took it to the range to sight in. Longest my lane had was 20 yds - pretty far for a .22, but what the heck.. First 5 were on paper (low-left), next 5 were high-right, by my 5th series of 5 shots I was putting all 5 rounds in a 1.5" box at 20yds. Brought it in and shot at 10 and 15. It was ridiculous how accurate it was, looking through it was great and no abberations or weird optical coloring/shifts. The red dot was crisp (minus my slight astigmatism), intensity adjustments really helped, I LOVE THIS OPTIC!!

The holosun 507c is fantastic... I mounted it to my 2011 using a trijicon mounting plate (this optic fits RMR footprint) Install was as simple of tightening two screws. Zeroing was the easiest of any pistol optic i have ever used and was even pretty close out of the box (it even said it would be close in the manual). The optic has a setting for every situation you could ever need, it has the circle, dot, and circle with dot. The circle i have used much but John from ASP swears by it. The dot is fantastic for longer range shots and i was even able to us this for very repeatable 100yard shots. The circle dot is PERFECT for everything inside 50y yards, and aids in finding the dot fast. More impressive is the durability of this tank of a red dot. I have an RMR, and I'm almost convinced the RMR eould break before this holosun. The aluminum is thicker than a snicker. The glass is pretty clear and it's a decent shape for cleaning powder off of after a range session. The shake awake function is flawless, the auto time off can be changed to different times, and the brightness settings work for every situation. I don't personally use the auto brightness, but it does work well. This optic is a far better than it's price suggests, it's an RMR killer for sure...

Great tool. Have ordered multiple after using the first one. Like the solar charger as well as it coming on when you draw or move the firearm. Have it on 2 sig p320 x5 legion and will be adding to a new echelon. Did not need a plate or adapter to install on the sign, so that was a definite plus. We like the green version and that there are multiple options on the reticle/dot configuration.

I purchased this to replace a Vortex Defender ST that has MAJOR design and hardware flaws. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $40 bucks and avoid the headache and hassle. The 507c/407c series of optics just work, the buttons are easy to access and manipulate, but not easy enough to inadvertently access and change your brightness/settings like the Vortex. Smaller battery but double the battery life, if you can explain that one to me, more power to you. Holosun just makes a better optic. YMMV but for me, this does the job and does it well. Also, if you're on the fence about forking out the extra coin for the 507c with the "donut of d*ath" reticle over the dot on the 407c, consider this... 1 moa is roughly the equivalent of 1 inch at 100 yards, so a 32 moa ring becomes a 32 inch circle, a 2 moa dot is 2 inches, and so on and so forth... But what about at 10 yards, 1/10 the distance? That 32 inch circle becomes a 3.2 inch circle, and that 2 inch dot becomes 1/5 of an inch. It's not going to make you a better shot by any means if your fundamentals suck and you don't practice, but when the adrenaline hits that ring is going to help you focus on that dot and make the hits count when it matters. Hope this helps. Also, side note, Holosun introduced a rolling change to their battery trays, the screws are now captured and "rachet", scared the living daylights out of me at first because I thought I stripped the screw but then I noticed that there's a ring around the screw for the battery tray now and after a little internet investigating, found out why.

I have carried this red dot with me on my G19 for well over a year now and it has held Zero very well. It has been dropped mutable times and keeps going. Great price for a RMR red dot. The glass is clear enugh to hit steel at 75 yards. The automatic shake awake works well never had to switch batteries! I recommend!
