I travel and camp a lot and had been using a larger, faster/more power hungry, glass kettle that ultimately broke. Then I found this one. For my larger kettle replacement, I was looking for: 1) Space saving smaller profile. My last kettle could heat 8 cups at a time. More than I needed. 2) Not glass. Stuff gets banged around in the van. Glass kettle = not good for traveling. 3) Doesn't use much watt power so I can use with my solar generator. I hadn't been able to use my other kettle much off grid because of its power requirements. Mostly was able to use it using shore power so 'off grid' hot water was limited to my gas stove or kettle on a grill. I didn't know what to expect when searching 'portable kettle.' Then literally found this, "Portable Kettle." Ha! So! 1) Space Saving - Check! It is 9" high x 3" diameter. Yes it only heats 13oz but that's okay for my needs. 2) Not Glass - Check! Feels like ABS (hard) plastic. The interior is stainless steel. The top is vented. 3) Has power settings based on your desired temps. I drink a daily hibiscus tea so being able to set to 135 and enjoy my tea right away is AMAZING! 4) Works with my Jackery - Check! So excited that the max load on this is 169 watts (ranged between 123 and 169 while heating to 135 degrees). I could not use my last kettle with my Jackery because it would trip it everytime. To not have to break out the gas stove to heat water my 'off grid' for camping adventures, is so awesome! It takes about 6 minutes to heat the water to my desired 135 for the tea. 5) For curiosity sake, I selected the max setting of 212 degrees. It took 3 more minutes and max power consumption was 290 watts. Still a far cry from 1300 watts used by my last kettle! The ability to select the temperature is a game changer. How many times do you heat water for tea/coffee/hot chocolate just to have to wait for it to cool off? I'm so excited I got to use this with my Jackery solar generator! Can't wait to use it on the road this winter!

I purchased this to replace a very old, larger electric kettle that I traveled with. This one is very compact and unfortunately the cord has to be stored inside the container. It is also only designed to heat water so if you want one that can heat soup, this is not for you. It is easy to use and heats the water to boiling in only a few minutes. But it will only hold about a cup and a half of water. That is enough for me since I will use it to make myself a cup of hot tea.

After traveling to Europe from the US and staying in places that all had an electric kettle, I couldn't believe that this isn't a "thing" in the US. I immediately purchased a full sized kettle for at home, which we use daily. I was so excited to find this mini/portable version to take to work! I love my little kettle!! It's not only perfect for my travels, it's perfect for my daily morning routine. Upon waking up, I like to check my emails and social media in bed and drink my tea. Now I don't even have to get out of bed to make the tea because I have my kettle next to the bed. On mornings that I'm in a rush I can take it to the bathroom with me while I get ready. It's so convenient. If your tea gets cold you can reheat it at the push of a button. It was the cheapest one I could find online but it doesn't look or feel cheaply made. I highly recommend it!!

As a tea drinker, when traveling, it’s often a hassle getting boiling hot water in the morning. There’s often a coffee maker in the room but using it to heat water for tea always results in tea that tastes like coffee. If a stove is available or an electric tea kettle, then all is well. Or if you’re in a large hotel, they might have a boiling water tap on the coffee maker downstairs. Best is an electric water kettle in your hotel room, but I rarely find that option. But this travel hot water heater is almost as good. It will heat water to the boiling point—although it’s quite slow to reach that temperature. But that’s no problem-just plug it in when you get up and by the time you’re done in the bathroom, it’ll be hot. It also is a compact cylindrical size so it fits easily in a suitcase. And it looks nice, too. I like it! The only small complaint I have is the electrical cord is awkward. It’s longer than it needs to be and there’s no convenient way to store it for travel. It’d be nice if there was a spring-loaded winder built in for it. But just wrapping it around the teapot when you put it in the suitcase works pretty well.

Bought this because my collapsible travel kettle was flimsy. Absolutely love it! Heats up quickly, same capacity as my travel mug, and very sturdy. Directions state you should wait a few minutes to open after boiling, but that sort of defeats the purpose of a kettle- I open mine immediately without any trouble. Very happy with this purchase!

This unit worked well for my purpose. Packing is good and comes with easy to understand instructions, two cleaning packets, nice thick power cord. I use this kettle to heat water to make tea & oatmeal on the go. It took the chilled water to 212F in 11mins. So room temperature water would heat faster....cool. It was filled to the max line inside kettle. As I only use it to boil water in before transferring to my thermos for tea or into a bowl for oatmeal. So not sure if making tea inside kettle would change the time by much. I really love the three prong plug connector. So much better and secure then my old kettle that only had a single connection. I have only used for a week now but I suspect this will easily survive the rugged use I put things through during my winter travels.
