  • Thin light weight with low heat retention
Size: 8.7"
Lightweight and good diameter for many large food items. A whole chicken breast fit well. Thin aluminum. Not very good heat dissipation from the middle if used on a butane MSR camp stove. Had to frequently move food to get to heated area. Handle seems over engineered it weighs nearly as much as the rest of the pan. And it would cause the pan to tip over if the pan was empty. Would work best on a large propane burner stove like a Coleman. Returned, want to get something with better heat spread. ... show more

  • Nice non stick fry pan
Size: 9.4"
Decided I needed a new non stick fry pan for my kitchen, decided to go with the Trangia pan because I have never owned a bad Trangia product. I have been using the pan in my kitchen with no issues, the ability to remove the handle save space in my storage drawer. I have used the pan for outside camp cooking with a Trangia 27 burner set up with no problems. Nice well made fry pan with a substantial aluminum bottom to help in heat distribution. Will buy again when needed, non stick pans have a life of a couple years at best with my use before they become damaged and are no longer non stick because of the Inadvertent abuse I sometimes apply to the pan with metal tongs. ... show more

  • Does not, if fact, fit either the Trangia 27 or 25
Size: 9.4"
The reviews on amazon seem to be mixed in regard to this frying pan, so let me put the record straight. General First off the handle which is detachable on the 9.4" model, seems to support the weight of the pan fine. I also think that this design is better, depending on use, than the fixed handle because it a) does not fold into the frying pan which impacts on the non-stick coating and b) is lighter which is always good for backpacking and c) and uses less space and is easier to store because it folds over the bottom of the pan allowing it to fit over the Trangia Series 27 or 25. Second, based on some of the reviews I was expecting a much heavier base for heat distribution. This is a very light pan and the base is not significantly thicker than the regular frying pans which come with the Trangia 27 and 25 sets. As such I think that it will have the same hot spot issues that those frying pans have. Third, I was expecting it to be larger, at 9.4", than the Trangia 25 series, 8.7", frying pans, however, in fact usable surface is almost same size. There is almost no gain in cooking area because the corners on this frying pan are significantly more rounded than on the Trangia 25 series frying pans which makes the usable space about the same. Fit Series 25 It does not in fact fit the 25 Series. It is just a little to large to fit inside the supports when they are up and is not large enough to be stable on top of the supports. This is really dumb because it is very close to both fitting inside the supports and being stable on top of them but due the size and shape it does neither. Note, due to the size and shape it kept wanting to slide off the top supports. So, if you wanted to hold it and or did not care if it was flat you could, probably, use it. Fit Series 27 It is to large to fit inside the supports. Due to the size and shape, it is also just a little to large to be stable on top of the supports. Again, owing to the corners it wants to slip off the top supports. You could, probably, use it if you held it while cooking. So in my view it does not fit the Series 27 either. Summary Despite being .7" larger than the Series 25 frying pan the usable surface is just about the same, the bottom is not much thicker for better heat distribution and it is not stable on either the Series 27 or 25. So in my view there is no real upgrade for its use for either the Series 27 or 25. As a stand alone with, say, the Trangia Triangle or some other burner and stove combination it would, probably, work better. However, as the base is not much thicker than the normal Series 27 or 25 frying pans, I think you would have issues with heat transference and have hot spots. So, I think that their are, probably, better options than this frying pan. I returned and would not recommend this frying pan to a friend. ... show more

  • Nice for use in the kitchen
Size: 8.7"
Needed a new fry pan foe the kitchen, never owned a bad Trangia product so this pan was worth the investment. I like the handle design and the ability to fold allows for easy storage in the pan drawer. The only thing I do not like is the handle can damage the pan coating when folded, I place a folded paper towel under the handle during storage. Have used the pan outdoors with my Trangia 25 cook setup with no issues. Will buy this pan again when I need another pan, the non stick pans last about two years before they need replacement due to my abuse. ... show more

  • Excellent pan, better description needed
This is a really good frying pan. I wish Trangia would give better descriptions so people could buy the pan that fits their stove. I'll try to do that here: The pan comes with an aluminum lid that can be stored by turning the lid upside down and folding the handle over to hold it in place. Nice, but the pan does not nest for storage on the Trangia 27 or 25. When in use, the 7.8 inch pan rests on the inner support of a Trangia 27. It is too small to use on a 25. A slightly larger pan could rest on the outer support of the 27 and the inner support of the 25. That would be the ideal pan to get. Trangia sells 7.8 inch, 8.7 inch, and 9.4 inch pans. I'm guessing that 8.7 is the one to get, but I'm not sure because the company doesn't say. And, I believe the 9.4 inch pan would sit on the outer support of the 25, the company doesn't say. ... show more

  • Picture is not what you get
Size: 9.4"
Thought I was ordering the frying pan with the folding handle but when I received it the handle was detachable and not near as sturdy as the folding handle looked. The frying pan also had a big dent in one side. The packaging was just a plastic bag so damage was not unexpected. Read the fine print and don't just go by the picture because the description said detachable handle. ... show more

  • Bottom dented in!
Size: 8.7"
The pan arrived with the bottom of the pan dented in. The carton it came in was not damaged so it was shipped this way. Sent it back for a refund. Would not buy again!
