I've been using one of these for years and it works great. Just set the blade centered on the tool and if the blades tilts, then it is out of balance so grind some off that end and try again.

I’m going to go in at three stars on this one because the price was great and the shipping fast, but for something that is designed to measure balance I would expect a little bit tighter tolerances in the manufacturing. There are two extra bits of material left on one side of the cone. I’m not sure how much this would affect accuracy in actual use but I do think for $.50 more it might be worth trying a different one to see if it’s made any better.

Simple little unit for balancing blades. When I got it, it did work, however the point of the base that goes up inside the cone was sort of blunt and seemed like it didn't allow the cone to move perfect. It would work as is, but I took the base to my bench grinder and put more of a point on it and now it moves very easily.
