We have another tineco product we love so the 3.3 review didn’t keep me away and after using the product once, the 3.3 review given blew me away. I cleaned 2 couches, 1 chair and a puppy puke soaked backseat of a car on one charge (3 dirty water tank alerts, big deal) . This is yet another great tineco product. It does push out a little excess water but it also has a suction mode to accommodate. It is not for huge carpet projects hence “spot” in the name. I previously tried a Bissell product; not cordless, didn’t clean as well, and not as sleek in appearance.

I was extremely disappointed in this cleaner. I have two puppies and my old spot cleaning machine was difficult to fully clean and it was starting to stink. I have a Tineco S5 mop and love it; clean up is so easy. I wanted a carpet/upholstery cleaner that was easy to clean (preferably self cleaning like my tineco mop). So I gave this Tineco cleaner a try. I first tried it on our bar stools. Since it decides on its own when to spray, water sprayed everywhere and I ended up having a large mess to clean. It did a decent job of cleaning the stools and sucking up the water, but the design of the head also made it awkward to use on the stools. There are 3 modes: Spot mode, automatic, and upholstery. When you turn the machine on it automatically starts at the first mode (I believe it is the spot mode, I’ve already sent the machine back and can’t remember). This means if you are doing upholstery and turn the machine off, you have to cycle back through quickly, because the machine decides very fast to start shooting out water. I tried this next on the carpet when one of my puppies had an accident. The actual cleaning area is so small that you have to use it in manually to get over the entire area of the pee (my puppies are small breed dogs, so they are very small). This took a small mess and turned it into a large soaked area. The dirty water tank fills very fast and the clean water empties fast. I believe this is because it uses an extreme amount of water to clean an area. Every time I used it I seemed to have water everywhere. I was also not impressed with the self-cleaning mode. I definitely didn’t feel like it cleaned itself well. Not on any level close to the tineco s5 mop self cleaning. The dirt sensor is pretty much worthless. On areas that were clearly dirty it didn’t show anything, but on areas I knew to be clean it did. I am not impressed with this feature on the mop either, but the mop does a fantastic job so I ignore it. For a $30 machine I might have said it was worth it, but at the $200+ price point, I would say don’t waste your money, there are much better cleaners out there in this range.

We have the Tineco spot essential, no need for the other model at all, this one just works perfectly. We had many spot cleaners, spent lots of money on all of them and they all never worked as good as this device. You press the power button and it goes into spot clean, you then press the trigger button to change the mode to auto mode and press it again and it goes into suction only, press again and back to spot clean. The device speaks to you as you press the trigger and when the clean or dirty water tanks are full. On spot clean you just put the cleaning head on the spot and the cleaner goes through all the cycles until the spot is clean (sometimes you have to run it again on the spot. ) The auto clean we use most as you just keep moving the cleaning head over areas until you are happy with the results then pull the trigger to suction to suck up any remaining water. We never ran out of battery even having to fill and empty the tanks a few times. You put the head in the cradle, plug in the power supply and ouch the cleaning button and the device mostly cleans well, and it is extremely easy to pop the head top off and pull the roller out to clean it. Note: we also have the Tineco S3 and that hard floor washer/cleaner works great also!! BUT the Tineco dry Vacuum cleaners work like crap, stay away from the cordless tineco dry vacuums.

Love this carpet cleaner. It does take some time to get used to. You use to aim over the spot and let it smart sense the area. Once it senses the stain it’ll begin powering and it will clean the spot with swipes back and forth. Easy to clean. Just make sure you clean the dirty tank out well and dry it out.

Self clean 👌. Spot clean is not realistic for you to leave the device working on it's own since it doesn't move and the brush is not big so it covers a very small area... I wish it had a feature that controlled the water flow.
