I have owned a number of carpet cleaners and owned and used this one for 4 months before writing the review. I would definitely recommend this machine, no matter what cost level or system you are considering. Don't waste your money on a spot machine, expensive or cheap machine, just get a machine that is versatile; and this machine is. It is easy to use, but before you do, make sure you read the simple instructions. Tgis will ensure you understand how to use the machine versus the spot cleaner. Benefits of this machine- *spot cleaner-easy to use, does an excellent job and easy clean-up. The brush is rubber rather than bristles. When using this part of the machine, you only have to clean-up the spot unit, rather than the entire system, which is a big plus. Suction is very strong, leaving the carpet only lightly damp, allowing it to dry quickly. *Carpet system-light weight and easy to move. NO TRIGGER TO HOLD FOR SOAP DISPENSING!!!! Excellent suction leaving the carpet lightly damp. Therefore, no need to run fans to dry the carpet. Excellent area run cleaning. I can clean the area rugs, leaving it on the wood floor during cleaning and drying with no concern of soaking the through the rug and impacting the flooring. Cleaning up the system, is easy and you are able to remove all parts to clean up for the next use. The cleaning product has a very pleasant scent and does an excellent job. Downfalls, *the water tanks could be larger, *the initial cleaning solution provided could be larger. *Replacement of cleaning solution is not cheap and the availability is limited. Order some when you buy the machine. *the spot cleaner hose and unit storage is a bit annoying as it falls off often. Overall, I will tolerate the tank sizes, cleaning solution cost and the spot cleaning hose coming unattached for the superior job the system does!!!!! ... show more

We have pets...I recently had a Eureka vacuum, and a Bissell carpet cleaner...However the hair seemed to become more of an issue....and Both stated machines always needed cleaning after use.. I reluctantly Bought a Shark Vacuum......That was amazing! I love that vacuum....so when I saw there was a "pet shampoo carpet cleaner" by Shark I was again reluctant to buy/but had high hopes. It arrived/easy to assemble, I immediately had to try. I cleaned the front living room 12x12 with the shark vacuum first. Then used this carpet cleaner. WOW! the pictures say it all! the hair collector bin was filled with hair/even AFTER the room was carefully vacuumed! This machine is easy to use...it feels slightly heavy/but operates like a dream. The electric cord is plenty long. The shampoo cleaner container is easy to remove/install. I like how it has a "measure line" on it so I don't use more cleaner than I need. The best part is this has a "pad" to put the cleaner on when storing so if any liquid is remaining, it won't leak on your floor. So back to the pic's. As you see this is only a one time use with the carpet solution. ALL THAT HAIR! and.....the brush remained hair free!!! what a bonus! As I read other reviews...some say the cord is short/it is not..it's about 15'? some say the collection bin is small....it is/but it allows you to clean a room without emptying. The cleaner solution container to dirty water collecting container seem to be proportional...so one container of cleaner/will empty as soon as your dirty collection fills. The still amazing issue to me is...all that deep embedded hair that was not seen, not picked up by yesterdays vacuuming and todays vacuuming. I stopped using my Bissell last summer because after every use it seemed as if I had to disassemble to remove all the hair that got stuck in the roller,vacuum suction,hose....after using this Shark it appears I only had to remove the hair fron the yellow bin and rinse the dirty water container. I love it! It works great, I like that it scrubs in forward motion and extracts when you pull back. It's nice not having to hold a trigger down to shampoo. It has a lower clearance so you can get under furniture, like a vacuum. It's lightweight, the wheels aren't spread wide so it maneuvers easily, and you can get up close to edges. The best part is that you can clean the machine completely when you're finished. I've had a Shark vacuum for 12 years and it works great, you can wash all of the parts, replace the filters and it looks fine. In the past we had a hoover carpet cleaner (top rated) and it was disgusting after 2 uses, hair stuck in extracter, hard to get it out. The new shark carpet cleaner, everything snaps off so you can rinse it off, the top of the brush cover lifts off so you can clean up carpet and hair. We have 4 little dogs and new carpet so it catches carpet fibers and hair, but it wipes right off. The cleaning solution smells so good, slightly citrus. ... show more
