Tool worked great. I had tried to remove this 15mm bolt several times with a 6 sided socket and socket wrench, socket and 12 inch breaker bar with heat. The bolt was soft and rounding off. Impact wrench and socket rounded it off completely. I drove the 14mm socket from this set onto the rounded 15mm, added some heat, and used a 3 foot cheater bar. The bolt broke free with tremendous pressure applied. It was hard to believe the bolt head didn’t shear. The socket was still in perfect condition. That was the first and only time I’ve used a socket like this. The cost of the set was worth every penny for just that one bolt to me. ... show more

Local oil change company overtightened the oil plug. I used this kit to remove the plug. Very happy with the kit. It was just an oil plug too so take that into consideration

It was needed for a vehicle caliper bracket 14mm bolt with rounded off head. Though not a heavy torque bolt at 46 ft lbs this saved me and extracted the rounded bolt with no problem!

worked as listed for product. tapped on a 17MM socket onto a stripped 17MM oil plug and it held perfectly to take it out using the outside socket as part of the 17MM extractor socket. Some folks say they snapped under heavy load, have not had that need ..... yet.

I just used the 5/16 to remove the 8mm from the 2004 ford 4.2 plenum. The head was bad; I tried to remove the last bolt. Always the last one. But it was the right move to order the extractor kit. Hey you can't go wrong with value and the material the durability It's so ease to use.

This kit saved me an expensive and embarrassing trip to a mechanic. My Honda ADV150 scooter has a cover for the oil screen that should be removed when doing an oil change. The cover is made of soft aluminum, with a short 17mm hex head built in. I managed to round off the corners of the hex head with a traditional 17 mm socket, see pictures. The rounded corners made it impossible to remove with a 17 mm wrench or socket. Desperate attempts followed including using vice grips, channel lock pliers, heating the metal, etc. My last ditch effort was this 13+1 bolt extractor kit, which was on sale for less than $20. Although the hex head was 17mm originally, the aluminum was damaged through the various hamfisted attempts with inappropriate tools, and the 17mm socket in this kit was now too large. So I hammered the 16mm socket onto the hex head, forcing the socket to "bite" into the aluminum. Once that socket was hammered into place, in less than 10 seconds I was able to loosen the cover using a socket wrench, allowing for easy removal. I was honestly at wits end, and this kit saved the day. I can't recommend this kit highly enough. Simply awesome. ... show more
