I bought this rod (model 9’ 6” 6 wt line) for sea run cutthroat fishing in Puget Sound. This type of fishing is mostly wading on rocky beaches with fairly long casts in sometimes windy conditions. Fishing all day, this rod is a joy to cast and I have had no problem casting pretty large, weighted flies with it. The only drawback is there is no hook keeper, but otherwise I really like the rod and plan to buy another lighter model soon for freshwater trout. Excellent fly rod at a great price. ... show more

    • Awesome rod with lots of back bone.
This is my main stick well, sticks. Just picked up a second. Really good for chucking hopper dropper rigs and nymph set ups. Pair it with a good line like rio gold or airflo superflo and you won’t be disappointed.
