This is an awesome patio heater. Whether you mount it to a wall or ceiling or chose to use a stand so you can store it when not in use. It's great. Really nice heat output and easy to control. Either on the heater itself or with the remote. There's not really anything to assemble or install. But it's easy to mount. I don't know the difference between the types of heaters. This one is inferred, carbon fiber heating. Which means nothing to me. I'm basing this review on the heat output and controls. There are multiple heat variations and there is an option for timer. Originally using this for our porch (not enclosed) as fall has made its way quickly with sub 40 mornings. The biggest selling point aside from it being a quality build, and no safety concerns. The 3 second claim for providing heat is true. Controller requires 2 AAA batteries (not included which is clearly stated so was prepared) We keep the controller in the common area, turn on the heater as we put our jacket on and it is toasty and providing heat by the time we let the dog out. Mounting brackets included, once mounted you are able to tilt it up or down 45 degrees (useful when you are the only one outside and can be selfish with the heater). *** After a month of use we are now considering 2 more and replacing our heaters in the sunroom where our hot tub is. Over the last 4 years we have more than 7 brand name heaters and East Oak was generally our favorite. We tested their new nanocrystal model that is a competitor to this and felt like the carbon fiber heating was better hands down. It felt more style over substance with the nanocrystal/digital appearance. ... show more
