BEST DECISION I'VE MADE THIS YEAR! TRULY LIFE CHANGING! This unit is so perfect for my 4 rescue cats. From our 6 lb. feral cat with a hairlip, to our 34 lb. feral farm cat. This unit is VERY sturdy with its wide stance! It is whisper quiet. It stays amazingly clean. Very, very little cat litter ends up on the mat, which is included. Unlike regular litter boxes. I've barely used any litter! I am already seeing the savings! And, the MOST important of all...it does NOT smell! The waste box TOTALLY hides the smell! It's a dream come true! I have seen the cats watch the unit spin and they aren't afraid at all. The app works well. I like to know that they each go twice everyday. We still use cheap kitty litter in it. I might change to something better for the environment. But, for now we still have 30+ lbs left of the cheap stuff. We used to go through 80 lbs. a month. I've only used around 10 lbs. this month.     • Larger cat issues. Works as advertised
Not really designed for larger cats. It could be bigger. Love the self cleaning feature. You have to empty the plastic bag at least every 2 days as the holding container is not very large. And also refill kitty liter every 2 days to keep it above minimum. Works as advertised. It’s quiet operations is a plus. Really like it, just wish it was a larger unit for my male cat. ... show more

    • Doesn’t conceal odor
We’ve tried multiple automatic litter boxes, each with their own faults. I like the idea of this one, but the bin smells terrible, it doesn’t conceal the smell of the waste at all. The machine also dumps the waste into the same spot, so the bin gets “full” regularly with multiple cats, which causes the machine to get stuck in the closed position. The app is terrible 0/10 stars there, it’s not helpful at all. Our other box sends you notice everytime a cat enters the box and when the bin is full, this one just tracks the use and you have to remember to manually check it. I wish my return window hadn’t closed because I would’ve returned this one, I was just trying to give it time to see how it was! Oh well ... show more

    • Very happy how Thereye works and its appearance
I bought the Thereye to replace an older Litter Robot, which worked beautifully for 7 years. However, I like the Thereye much better for several reasons: *It's quieter. *It's much easier to clean the unit itself because it's an open design, while the Robot was like a black cave which was challenging to keep clean. *It's more compact and occupies a smaller space. It's also a more attractive design. *The Thereye cost under $200 while the Robot is nearly $500. *The Thereye litter mat is amazing for keeping litter from trailing all over the floor. The one thing the Robot has over Thereye is better odor control. However, it's not bad, and I use Fresh Step Litter Box Deodorizing Crystals (according to package directions), and it works well. The one thing I can't speak to is longevity as I've only had it 2 months. Note: it was easy to train my 14 year old cat to the new litterbox. She was a bit resistant at first because it was "different," but she adapted within 2 days. Be sure to throw in a bit of the "used" litter from previous box so the cat recognizes her own smell. ... show more

    • Bin shifts too much for cats to do their biz
Set up was easy, construction was good, the new tray is challenging to open and close. The biggest issue is the bin shifted significantly when the cats tried to get into it. It shifted by a good two inches. Because of this significant movement the cats refused to use it. Very disappointing as we liked most everything else about it. ... show more

    • Game changer!
I think this automatic litter box was a game changer for my household. One of my cats will find a random spot to use the bathroom if he finds his litterbox is too full for use. This automatic cleaning litterbox is the perfect solution- he always steps into a clean box. It’s quiet and functions well and seems sturdy. It’s not wobbly and isn’t as high to get into like I thought. It’s nice value for money, however the collection tray is very hard to put in and out and it never slides in correctly so it takes some maneuvering. I also don’t like how the scent pack doesn’t seem to have a specific spot. Beware if you touch that with bare hands- I recommend washing hands after or avoiding touching it all together. It’s very fragrant. It’s app controlled so I like how you can set how often it cleans after a cat leaves the box and it tells you the litterbox activities. I wish it was more customizable to tell me which one of my cats goes in and when. It didn’t take my cats long to start using it either ... show more

    • Cool Tech. Very Quiet. Way Too Small!
I saw the great reviews and thought I finally found one that works! Well, boy was I wrong! I loved the WiFi setup and app access with stats, etc. But this drawer is way too small and so is the “pathway” to the drawer. My cats urinate as giant patties (they drink a lot - fountain). 90% of the time, the patties get stuck in the pathway, requiring me to dig them out. Also, the tray goes full every 3 days, with two average sized house cats. At least the one I had before this, lasted 6 mos before dying, but it was fairly consistently working well. The noise level on this is great and the tech is promising. But, the design is horrible. Also, the cats kick the litter out every time they use it. I’m returning this. It requires more attention than a standard litter box! I really wanted this to work for us, but I guess my search continues. If you have a single, miniature cat, this may work. Otherwise, don’t bother. ... show more

    • Automatic litter box
It took a long time for my cat to get comfortable with this but he is now using it most of the time. It works well. I still have other litter boxes set up but he rarely uses them anymore. Litter tracking is minimal as is the odor. I empty it about every two weeks.
