I love the versatility of what can go in this product, but I hate the versatility of what can come out of it. More specifically the current is just way too much for my betta. His fins are much bigger than any other betta I've had, so that likely contributes to his slower, weaker swimming. But the poor buddy just swims on the struggle bus amd hides in his bush when I have it on. I try not to have it on more than a few hours a day, but I can tell that has really cut into the cleaning efficiency for the 10 gal tank. I added several different kinds of filter media (phosphoris stuff for brown algae, filter beads from my last tank etc) into a fabric filter bag. So I love that. But really wish the unit had an adjustable flow or something. ... show more

We really like this fish filter because it cleans the tank well and has a good price. The hard part is that it is pretty loud. It's mostly a humming sound. It's also a little confusing to put together.

    • Stopped working in 6 months
The media could not be loaded. The filter was not as quiet as I expected and vibrated quite a lot. It also was very in efficient because of the smaller size. The secondary filter didn’t fit in the pump pole area which meant that water was constantly spilling back in. That didn’t actually go through the filter. And now it has broken after a less than six months of use. ... show more

This item is called whisper but it was very loud, I have a much older filter system that makes less noice then that, went back to my older filter
