Although there was another firepit cover I liked a little better, it was double the price of this one. And this one's NICE! Just not that tall if you're burning longer pieces of wood. I'm thinking of mounting some sort of guides on the top of my pit, to help keep the cover from sliding off should anyone, God forbid, fall against it. That extra millisecond might give someone a better chance of avoiding a fall directly into the fire.

It's a decent spark screen, but only lasted 1 season for us. We cover the firepit when not in use, so it doesn't get rained on. I'm assuming the condensation from the weather changing ultimately caused it to rust through, but we were definitely expecting it to last more than 1 season. It's seems counter intuitive to me, but maybe it would've been better leaving it uncovered.

Be warned if you buy this. The listing mentions in two locations that it is 30", but the one I received was only 29.5". It isn't much difference, but it is too small and falls right into my fire pit.
