I honestly cannot believe how high-quality this rower is for the price. It feels like an incredible bargain for such a solid piece of fitness equipment. Very nice quality, easy to assemble and works great. Instructions could be clearer, very small print. I did find online tutorials for assembly which were helpful, even though some of the instructions were obsolete because the rear feet were already welded together and the instructions showed the feet needed to be screwed on. Anyway price was reasonable and quality was better than expected. I’ve only used it a few times and no complaints. Previous reviews mentioned how difficult it is to unpack and with that I was prepared, but they weren’t wrong.

I love my row machine. It showed up fast and was very simple to assemble. The metal is very strong. there is no bowing when in use. The pull bar is strong and the strap is still holding strong as well. We haven't had any issues with the materials, even with my girls trying to use it as a balance beam. This particular row machine does not have wheels on it, so its not the gentlest thing to move on a hard wood floor. With that said, it is light weight and even my 14 years old can move it. I do also like that it will stand upright and can be put against a wall or in a corner for storage. The seat glides smoothly and the resistance is very easy to adjust. My biggest critique is that, for me at least, the track is just a little too short. I seem to always be hitting the back bumper, So I have had to become very cautious of that while I row, which can be distracting sometimes. But, all-in-all, its a great little at home machine.

Had this for years now. Use it 2-3 times a week. It’s stood up to use by my whole family ranging in age and height from 9 years to 45. Compared to professional machines this is good for short people like myself so hence the 5 stars. I disagree with the metrics. It keeps time but I think the calories burned and distance are not correct. At this point in the game I just set a timer, turn on a classic album and row like I’m a Viking approaching an English coastline. It’s a space saver. Tip it on its top and it compacts nicely. Resistance settings are simple and easily changed mid row. Assembly was easy. Not 20 minutes as advertised. If your looking for an entry level rower and you tend to be a person of smaller stature it’s a good by.

The Quality and Performance of this Excellent MERACH Home 'Rowing Machine' is Impressive. Took around a half Hour to Assemble ... Very Easy. High Quality, Sturdy FRAME and High Quality Bolts / Hardware. Solid '5-STAR++++' Rating. I've used a good number of Rowing Machines at the Gym, when I was Younger. I'm Retired Now, and Appreciate this Rowing Machine for its' Simplicity of Design; Ease of Use; Excellent Resistance [ 1 - 16 ]; Comfortable Seat; Decent Foot Rests; Good Placement / Angle of the Monitor; and 'Ease' in Moving it to the Vertical / Storage Position. Solid Performance and Overall High Quality Design & ALL Parts ! Haven't used the APP yet ... But look forward to Checking it Out ! I Appreciate the 'CORE' Workout ... Really Feel it in My Mid Section. Since I have been Using Free-Weights {barbell/Dumbbells] ... I am Mostly 'Pushing' Weights. This Rower works the Muscle Groups that I am NOT Focusing on: 'Pulling' ... Which Targets My Back, Abdomen, and Extremities Muscle Groups from Different Angles. I've lost 70 lbs in the last two years, largely thanks to walking or running - sometimes outside, sometimes on a treadmill. Moved from a house to an apartment & the although the complex has a state of the art gym in the clubhouse, this is year five of working hard to not catch C19, and I don't want to use it. Yes, I could mask, but didn't love the thought of running with a sweaty mask or having to do trial & error to find the best mask for that job. I'm on the top floor of my building & am not the kind of neighbor who'd wake the downstairs neighbors with an hour of me thudding away on the noisy treadmill. I tried step workouts in a carpeted room, but found myself holding back. I can lift weights or use a rebounder or yoga/pilates, but nothing was really working for cardio. I started pricing ellipticals - that's basically running, right? Only no impact and no shaking the rafters for the neighbors? There's a huge price difference, and many of the budget-friendly ones either looked flimsy, or had reviews about parts coming loose or not lasting long. I went to YouTube and found a guy who did a whole How To Not Pick A Sh(odd)y Elliptical. LOL. And he gave a list of half a dozen things to look for before committing and said there was good & bad to be found at all of the price ranges. So I came back to Amazon a little more prepared about what I was looking for. It seemed like I'd have to spend $350-ish and hope mine would not die after a year. Honestly I don't know how I went from ellipticals to rowers. Maybe a "People Who Look At These Crappy Ellipticals Also Buy..." suggestion? IDK. At first glance, shopping felt similar to ellipticals. There was a huge price range & varying reviews. I did notice that there were fewer complaints about quality, stability, or durability. I went back to YouTube hoping for another How To Buy A Decent Rower video. I didn't exactly find *that,* but I did find several unboxing videos. I watched rower videos for a few days and noticed that a lot of the positive reviews/unboxings kept mentioning Merach by name. I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes, so I went googling to see if Merach made an elliptical. LOL. And then I shopped for their specific rowers. It seemed like $350 was going to have to be the budget either way. I was still leaning elliptical for decibel level alone. Some of the rowers were really loud even in the videos. I got a notification that one rower I'd been looking at was on sale & marked down from $399 to $250-ish and there was a $50 coupon. I went to the reviews, which were almost all positive, and one man said his wife likes to work out early in the mornings & that he could not hear her even in the next room. No electricity required was also a huge plus. I decided for $200, it was worth the gamble & hit Buy Now. It took maybe 30 min to assemble by myself & would have gone faster if I had trusted the R/L on the pedals, but I put those on backwards the first time. (That's on me - it's imprinted AND marked by a sticker AND in the instructions, but I thought I knew what I was doing. hahahaha) It really is darn near silent. It's a belt and not a chain, plus I didn't get a water model. (I'm told those are louder.) Does not need external power. It is really sturdy. The seat glides easily and even that does not make any noise at all. If the display matters to you (it does not to me), you'll probably want to have 2 AAA batteries on hand. They include two cheapo/trial batteries that the instructions say won't last long & will need to be replaced. (Seems like a weird thing to cheap out on, honestly, but whatever.) Personally, I put my ipad on the ledge in front of the display and throw on an Apple Fitness rowing workout. I noticed something after mine arrived, and that was that a 3rd party delivery like Amazon voids the warranty. I don't know for sure that I have no standard company warranty, but I would have asked before purchasing. I did add the extended warranty. Maybe that will help if I need it? One nice surprise. I expected it to be sturdy while rowing. I would have returned it if it was not. But it is also sturdy when upright to be put away. I don't have to worry about the vacuum knocking it over or anything. It's sturdy, balanced, and solid. And quiet! A dream! Really happy with the purchase. Now to lose the rest of the weight. Almost to my goal!

Assembly review only, as I haven't had a chance to spend much time with the product. Prior reviews state that the assembly takes about 20 minutes. It took me that long to extricate the machine parts from the packaging. It was packaged very securely, but it was a spectacle of tape and styrofoam before I finally got all of the pieces freed up from their packaging. Once done I proceeded with assembly. Clever positioning of bolt holes ensured that a part couldn't be put into position incorrectly, so kudos on that. The hex key was fine for inserting and tightening the various bolts. Having to hold the seat up while putting the bolts in place for the rails was a bit of a hassle. They recommend that two people tackle this step, but I didn't have another person available, so I just soldiered on. Pedal assembly was last. They were nicely labeled so you knew which went to which side. Tolerances were tight in getting the long bolt through the holes in the pedals, but it worked with a bit of effort. The wrench provided was cheaply made with a poor grip on the bolt heads. I should have stopped and gotten my socket set out, but I was too lazy to go down to my shop, so I made do. The pedals installed with a bit of effort, but worked fine at the end of the process. Test ride showed that the foot strap to snug up the strap to foot was very easy to use and velcro'd in place nicely. The ride is smooth and absolutely silent. I went with the manual adjustment model rather than the electronic model and adjustments were easy to make. I'll be using my Apple Watch to track my workout, so I haven't downloaded or sampled their app and don't think I'll bother with it. So, overall a minimum of hassle and a product that I think is going to work very well.

It’s great—easy to install and works very well. However, the resistance is a bit on the light side; I need to start at level 10, and since the maximum setting is 12, I feel like I’ll quickly outgrow this weight level.
