  • Good buy
Style: Manual-Adjust (Classic)
I can't speak to the longevity of this product since I only just assembled it but it feels sturdy, the track is smooth and the tension is good. It took approx. 30 mins to set up and can stand vertically when not in use. My only gripe is with the velcro foot strap. It was poorly designed and if you've ever sat on a rowing machine while trying to strap your feet in you'll understand what I mean. Ultimately, for the price this was a best buy for me! ... show more

  • I Researched Rowers and Made My Choice!
I’ve fallen in love with rowing. Ok! The first element of this rower that surprised me is how quiet it is. Truly, someone could be on the couch beside me watching tv and barely know I was rowing. It’s that quiet. I have the Electric Plug-In model btw. It’s quiet, and smooth when level transitioning. Seat glides well. The quality is excellent. My two things they could improve. The foot straps could be easier to tighten. I just leave as tight as I need them to row and then jam my foot in. Next is that, while the display is bright and functional, I realize now that it’s too low for me to read my stats well while rowing. The numbers are clear, but the little icons showing which stat it is are too small to catch on the few seconds before the screen shows the next stat. If that were placed higher, I’d be happy. To fix that issue on my own, I just need to memorize the order of stats as they show on the display. Working on it! Anyway, I’ve had this a month now and used it for about 20 days straight. I’ve even considered upgrading to another rower (something fancy and overpriced) But they are all loud where Merach is whisper-quiet, and they only accomplish one extra thing—they would sync the rower with the Hydrow app (that I prefer over the Merach app) so that my stats are automatically recorded. Is it that serious for me to see my stats on the big screen and have them record automatically? No. Is it worth spending $1900 on a Concept 2 or Hydrow? Definitely not. Also, I could use my Merach app and the stats would record and (this is cool) the machine’s resistance automatically changes with the workout! Verdict? I’m gonna keep my Merach and enjoy it. It tucks nicely against the wall in my living room, and if company comes then I can put it in the closet. It’s easy to assemble too. Let me think if I’m missing anything…it’s well-priced for the users who don’t have money to burn, and it’ll make you stronger in no time! ... show more

  • Good little row machine, very quiet.
Style: Manual-Adjust (Nordic White)
I am disabled and find it very challenging to find exercises that won't hurt me. With this I am able to sit, which takes the pressure off my knees. I don't have to fully flex or extend any joints, and I can control how much resistance I am pulling. I still have to wrap my knees to keep my patellas in place, but with careful bodily awareness, I have been able to exercise for 30 mins every other night or so. I have to be careful, but I am fighting not to be in a wheelchair and this is helping me. Assembly - again I am disabled and I was by myself with no help. I was still able to put it together. It did take me a while, probably at least 1 hour, but that is just me. It came with all the needed nuts and bolts. No missing pieces. Just pay close attention to the bolt and washer types and numbers written on the cardboard container and make sure they are aligned with what they are asking for in the installation instructions and you'll be fine. It is very quiet, and you can watch something on the television while working out with it if you want to. It is also quiet for your neighbors beneath or beside you if you live in a small apartment. Storing it is pretty nice, it has little wheels on it and stands up really well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is for 2 reasons. The first is because, the handle bar is made from rubber. There is no cushion to it. So after 1 work out my hands were pretty painful. I had red marks on the pads of my palm, and it burned with the post work out shower. With continued use like this, I would certainly get blisters. So I recommend wearing padded gloves. I am wearing gloves to workout with it, and that solved the issue. The second reason is because of the seat. The seat itself is fine in size for me, however, it does not provide much in the way of comfort. After about 15 mins your posterior will start to feel painful or uncomfortable and force you to reposition. I imagine this can be resolved with a seat cushion. Overall, I think it's a faithful workout machine and does a great job for someone who struggles with finding workouts that don't cause injury. I'm happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Fantastic. Can’t beat the price.
Style: Manual-Adjust (Classic)
Does this have a fancy screen, an app, and a crazy set of displays and options? NO! But it’s a great workout. I got it for $200 during last years PrimeDay if memory serves me correctly. It was quite easy to put together and it works great. It’s a smooth glide, you can change resistance, and it has an old school battery operated basic screen to show speed and stuff like that. Is it a Peloton row? No, but it’s about 3300 cheaper and gives the same workout. Only criticism, not worth losing a star over, is strapping in your feet. The little Velcro strap and pedal design isn’t the most efficient. And if you have a gut like me, that initial strapping in is your first workout. But once I’m in I’m good to go! I use peloton app which gave me some good tips and form and posture. I’ve gotten almost a year out of it so far and it still works great. I can throw it away and get a new one every year for 17 years and it’ll be cheaper than one high end model. Save your $ on others and get this. Especially if you’ve never used a row machine and you’re unsure if you’ll like it. ... show more
