I used a much more upscale machine during my cardiac rehab and wanted one like it at home that didn't cost $12,000 so I could split exercise time between it and our treadmill. I wanted to spend less than $1,000 and after reading reviews and looking locally selected this one. After nearly five weeks, using it 4-5 times a week I am very pleased with it. It went together fairly easily. The assembly instructions were overall very good. The hardware package was exceptional as each assembly step was packaged and labeled separately on a large card. Three small boxes held other larger components that were also labeled. Right and Left handed parts were labeled. The only things I would note on assembly is that the diagrams in the directions are small and I had to blow them up with my phone. I found the bolts and washers that hold the stem to the frame that the monitor sets on loose in the bottom of the shipping container for some reason. Someone should have reminded me that just like a bicycle, the pedals have one bolt that is reverse threaded (the left). I wasted some time trying to thread it on the wrong way. Besides that the only really tricky part was attaching the cable that adjusts the tension settings. This is the only place where the instructions could have been clearer. They include tools to assemble and I mostly used them, though I did use a crescent wrench and a channel locks pliers. If you don't have these the included tools work well enough. Beyond these things the monitor is battery powered. As soon as you begin pedaling it comes to life. I'm waiting to see how long the AA batteries that are included last. I am very pleased so far and I am using it regularly. It has relieved the monotony of time spent only on the treadmill. The advantage of this over a recumbent bike is that the load can be shared by both arms and legs. AT times I rest my legs and let the arms do all the work. I love it and my husband loves it! I have a bad back and he has bad knees. This piece of equipment gives us a thorough workout without stressing and hurting our backs or knees. It's very comfortable and joint friendly. I love the assembly video. I'm not sure we could have assembled it without a lot of time and trouble if we had to go by the written instructions alone. The bike was easy to assemble. Only needed extra hands during one step. Took about 4 hours but I took my time and had several breaks. I thought it was missing the break so I called customer support. Kitty was very helpful and began the process to send paperwork for replacement. A few minutes later I found the part. After assembly, there were no extra parts (yea!). The bike is quiet as advertised. Well built and sturdy. The seat is ok but not very padded. My tail bone wasn’t happy so I’m experimenting with different pillows to see if I can make it more comfortable. I’ve been shopping for a recumbent bike for several months and decided on this one. My right knee will be replaced February 2nd. I’m working as hard as I can to prepare my leg muscles ahead of time and for rehabilitation after. I love it! Very smooth ride, and super easy on my bad knee joints. This is so much better than a traditional exercise bike. Once I found the right Youtube video it was easy to put together, my daughter and I assembled it in about an hour.

This makes it very easy to finally get full body exercise comfortably. Had knees replaced and lost 50 lbs on Atkins but as a lifelong loafer...really needed to get my heart and full body working well, this is the answer. So quiet, stable, comfortable and no plug in or another monitor to bother with. Put my phone up in slot and watch TV across the room while working out. I just wish I had one 15 yrs ago but probably would not be as great as this design. I had a stationery bike trying it with 4 bought seats but all painful and bad painful leaning forward position plus way too high up. This has no such drawbacks or a electronic display to fry like that bike. ... show more
