  • Works as expected but you need a pressure tank.
Style: 60,000 BTU Water Heater
I put the controller in the kitchen area and set it for what we're doing. Showers are 100 and washing dishes full blast. We only use the hot water side for showers and it works fine. Doesn't appear to use much propane. I replaced a tank heater and it caused the water pump to cycle endlessly so I added a 2 gallon tank to the system so the cycling would stop. Everything is good now! If I had it to do again I would choose the same path. Be aware if you pause the hot water you'll get a cold slug while the heater senses flow and restarts. Seems to last about 6 seconds then it warms back up. Took about two showers to get used to it. ... show more

  • Highly recommended! Should have bought one sooner.
Style: 60,000 BTU Water Heater
Definitely recommend!! Works well!! Just don’t shut the water off when in the shower. When flames shut off it sends a burst of cold water. Super easy install! Very quiet when running.

  • Horrible customer service
Style: 60,000 BTU Water Heater
Unit didn't work. Suburban is the worst company. You can't get help from them, they don't stand behind there products. It's impossible to get ahold of them and when you finally do they tell you there is nothing they can do for you. Will never buy or recommend to anyone.

  • I'd buy a converter it's like 45 bucks and saves alot of hassle
Style: 60,000 BTU Water Heater
At first I ddnt see the control panel but it was there. I would suggest buying a 110to12v converter. Obviously the door is sold separately. The product itself has been fantastic! I've personally taken a 45 min shower followed by my gf taking an hr long one. Back to back. It saves propane and is very simple to install and use! ... show more

  • Not perfect, but good enough.
Style: 60,000 BTU Water Heater
This is the second unit we have purchased. The first one went into a travel trailer that we traded in. My wife loved it so much that she insisted I upgrade the new 5th wheel as well. I have deducted one star for two reasons. One is that customer support sucks and is practically non-existent. If you buy this, expect to be abandoned and on your own. Second is because it requires too much water flow to keep it active. If you are taking a shower it is best to set the temperature to what you like and only open the hot water, but if someone turns on the cold water somewhere else in the trailer flow through the heater can drop low enough that it shuts off completely. If you set your shower temperature too high and want to add cold water to lower the temperature you risk flow getting too low and it shutting off completely. Once you learn this it is fairly easy to work around, but still inconvenient and a poor design. It doesn't come with a door, that makes sense, some people need white, some people need black, some people need a door to replace a 6 gallon heater, some people need an 18x18 door to replace a 10 gallon heater, and that brings me to my final point. I was replacing a 10 gallon Atwood on my most recent purchase, but Suburban apparent doesn't make an 18x18 door. I noticed that Recpro's heater looks remarkably similar to the Suburban and they do sell an 18x18 door. I took a chance and ordered that door directly from them as I couldn't find one on Amazon and it turns out the Recpro door fits the Suburban heater perfectly. Because the new heater is so much smaller than the old 10gallon tank I used 2x2 lumber to frame in the gap around the heater. It probably would have been fine without but I felt better having it framed in. ... show more

  • Great and easy install
Style: 42,000 BTU Water Heater
One of the easiest RV items ever installed! Water Propane 12volt + & - Few screws to hold in place. Now you might have to modify the door or order the door for these but ours sadly didn't fit. Works AMAZING

  • T&P Valve may release water into the interior of your RV
Style: 60,000 BTU Water Heater
First off this item was described as 'Used/Like New", so knew it wouldn't be perfect. The item does not appear to have ever been installed, but upon delivery clearly had suffered trauma in transit. While there was no mention of it in the description, the internal sheet metal brackets were quite bent. The exhaust port did not line up with the opening in the door. The heat exchanger was crooked in the enclosure, and has some wrinkles, hopefully it does not leak. I spent several hours disassembling straightening and reassembling the water heater so that the parts fit correctly. While I expected to have to deal with some minor issues, this was a bit more than I had figured on. I also have an issue with one of the design aspects. The T&P valve is installed such that in the case of activation it will flood the interior of the water heater box which is not water tight. This in turn will flood the interior of my RV. My solution is a plastic 90 degree fitting that screws into the T&P valve (3/4" pipe thread) then accept 1/2" tubing. I will drill holes and route the tubing out the bottom of my RV so that in the event the T&P valve releases any water it will go outside my RV rather than inside. ... show more

  • Hot endless showers in a camper.
Style: 60,000 BTU Water Heater
I've been using it for about a year now. It's been great to have this type of water heater. It's just about instant, the water in lines after the unit is what's cold at first start. Doesn't seem to use very much propane. My 100 pound propane tank gets me through about half the year. 20 pound last a couple months atleast. Resetting the unit is pretty easy also, if there is a code it'll tell you on the display. ... show more
