  • Excellent on Demand Hot Water Heater
Style: ExploreFlow
The media could not be loaded. We are fulltime RVer’s and This has been a great replacement water heater for our Dometic 12 gallon that went out after 7 years of use. The support has been excellent! Every time I had a question before the install the Ranein company responded to my emails within a day or same day most of the time. The water heater takes a couple seconds before it gets hot at the fixture. However, it’s not a problem because we can wash dishes and take endless showers and never run out of hot water. It was also easy to install the control box inside the RV at our control board location for the rest of the RV using the old wires from the old water heater. You do have to order the door separate then the actual water heater. I highly recommend this water heater because of the price, company support and ease of installation. ... show more

  • Worth reading!
Style: ExploreFlow
My old suburban 12 gallon tank was leaking from the combustion chamber. So I researched as best I could over a week and settled on the Rainen on demand hot water heater. It’s now been installed for about two months of continuous use. It’s doing great. I spent November and December in Ohio where it got down into the teens for several nights. I do use a heated hose in those cold temps but it still had no trouble making 124 degrees. Even at near freezing with the hose heater off. It showed 35 degree inlet and 124 outlet. I was careful to order the 18x18 door combo which saved me $79 and had to frame the opening down to fit tank itself. It very easy, I just placed a 2x4 on edge along the top and left sides. I used Kreg pocket holes to hold them in place. Installed heater, and it fits perfectly, and then installed the door kit. Made all of the connections inside and had hot water in 30 seconds. I absolutely love it but I do have a few “complaints”. I would like a handing option on the door so that it can be made to open toward the front of the trailer. The T&P valve leaks above 60 psi and I had read this before buying it. With a regulator inline it doesn’t leak but it also can’t make enough volume to run two devices. Without the regulator it does fine. I need to find a high volume regulator. The ramp up for hot water is longer than a conventional tank. I knew this going in but when I dry camp it will be an issue for water loss. I think I will rectify this with a reclamation system. So the pros far outweigh the cons and it was half the money of the suburban unit I had that only lasted 5 years. ... show more

  • Exceptional Performance and Reliability!
I’ve been using the 65,000 BTU RV Tankless Water Heater for a few weeks now, and it has exceeded all my expectations. The installation was straightforward, and the unit is fully compatible with my RV setup. The on-demand hot water feature is a game-changer, providing instant hot water whenever needed, without the long wait times associated with traditional water heaters. One of the standout features is its high-altitude capability. I often travel to mountainous areas, and this heater performs flawlessly, even in those challenging conditions. The 12V power system is also incredibly efficient, making it perfect for off-grid adventures. The multi-function controller is user-friendly, allowing for easy temperature adjustments and monitoring. I also appreciate the included white door, which seamlessly blends with my RV’s exterior. Overall, this water heater is a must-have for any RV owner. It’s reliable, efficient, and offers an endless supply of hot water. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Nice Product
Had a small 10 gallon water heater in our mobile home. Replaced with this tankless and have never ending hot water. Takes literally seconds to have hot water.

  • Trouble free install. Easy to use
There were no issues installing it into a 2015 Forest River Georgetown. It fit the existing Suburban 6-gallon water heater opening perfectly. I just needed to raise the bottom support/floor a couple inches so it matched the bottom edge of the opening. Dare I say it was almost too easy? I was expecting some trouble along the way, but none ever came up. The 5/8" gas and 12V connections from the old heater were all I needed for the new one.. I did use a 5/8" stainless semi-flex gas pipe to route from the existing copper gas line to the back of the tankless heater to avoid any sharp bends in the copper pipe. The heater works as advertised, and is typical of all the on-line descriptions of using a tankless water heater in an RV. We initially set the temperature to 111 F, but ended up using it at 109 F (it only lets you set in 2-degree odd increments when in Fahrenheit mode). For showers, just turn on the hot water and the only limit to your shower is your gray-water holding tank. I noticed that it does need a good flow before it will turn on the heater. If I just turn on the hot water 1/4 the way, the heater will usually not turn on. I would open the hot water knobs in the sink or shower closer to 3/4 to get the heater to turn on. It seems like the outside shower at the back of the RV needed full-on to engage the water heater (it is probably the outside shower valves not letting as much water through as the others). All this will depend on how much water pressure you are using. I think I was only setting it to 50-60 psi. I did not notice any difference in the time it took for hot water to come out of the faucet than before. It may be a few seconds longer, but it was never an inconvenience. ... show more

  • Nothing but problems
I operate a RV repair service and wanted to test this out for possible replacement recommendations. The price point is attractive and being in Colorado the high altitude operation is also a must. I have this installed in my own camper parked at the in-laws house for visits and whatever. First failure, after 100 days, was the motherboard. The voltage would drop out every time it turned on. Wired direct to batteries with good life and voltage, they sent a replacement and everything worked great for following month. Now an intermittent E8 error pops up while using. Nothing like losing hot water in the middle of a shower!! Support involves 20 emails two days apart. I will not recommend this one, unfortunate but it’s too unreliable. Furion is priced in the high side, but I’ve great luck with them in Colorado (over 30 units installed last year). ... show more
