  • Exceeded expectations
I took a seasonal job for the park service and had full Hooke ups at a campground at 6,800 feet elevation for the summer. Ground water around 45 degrees. I opted for this model as it was about 10k BTU more than the rest in the price range. I’m a professional hvac/r technician and appreciate the simplicity of the design. The unit fit perfectly in the place of the existing hot water tank, wiring was simple and the interface very easy to set and understand the readings. I set it to 120 at first but was way too hot for showers. So I lowered it to 106 which was just right for 100% hot water shower. Takes about 20-40 seconds to reach steady temp. Half hour shower was no trouble at all. Elevation and cold input water temp also no trouble at all. No cons k can speak to, works perfectly and worth every penny to have unlimited hot water on demand vs 3 minute scramble showers with the old baby hit water tank. ... show more

  • Super easy DIY installation, works great, happy with propane usage
This review is for the Ranein 65,000 BTU RV Tankless Water Heater I'm a single female with limited DIY skills, and I was able to easily install this myself. The only two things I struggled with were 1) getting the stuck gas line off my old water heater and 2) figuring out the wire colors in my RV. Neither problem was related to the Ranein WH though. Once I got the old one out, it was smooth sailing. One of my concerns about going tankless was propane usage. I was afraid I'd be making propane runs every week. It's taken me 8 full weeks, almost 9, to use two full 20 lb tanks. So about 20 lbs a month for one female. The only other propane appliance I use is my stove, and I haven't used that enough in two months to count (thanks Instant Pot and Air Fryer). I wasn't sure if 124 degrees would be hot enough for me, but it is. The temperature adjustment takes a little getting used to, but you'll have plenty of hot water. My kitchen sink is a single lever, and I find that it's hard to get a good mix of hot and cold unless I have the faucet flowing full blast. If I want slow flow, it can really only be fully hot or fully cold. When doing dishes, I turn temp down to like 111-114, so I can run it on low flow without scalding my hands. After that I turn it back up to 124 for showers and laundry. When bathing kittens in the kitchen sink, I'd try to set the temp at like 98-99, but it kept creeping up to like 118, which was way too hot for babies. I finally figured out the flow was too low. Once I opened it up full blast, the temp lowered to my set point. Of course, the fast running water scared the kittens, but we managed. The shower is much easier. It's a double handle, so the water mixes better. I can leave the temp set at 124, and just adjust the cold water. Don't forget you can't use the pause button on your showerhead though. If the water stops flowing, the water heater stops heating, so you end up getting blasted with cold water shortly after you unpause. LOL. After years of living with a 6 gallon water heater, that took a little getting use to, but I've got it down now. Taking long hot showers has been incredible. It's seriously therapeutic. Showers had become just a necessary chore, not much joy in bathing when you're trying to be frugal with water. That first long shower was mind altering. I washed AND conditioned my hair, used the scrub brush on my WHOLE body, and even shaved - all in one go! LOL! Anyone living the 6 gallon lifestyle knows you can't come close to that. The other thing I use hot water for is my washing machine. I feel like I do a lot of laundry, and I wash on hot like 99% of the time. So I made it two months on 40 lbs on propane, with lots of long, hot showers, lots of dish washing, and lots of laundry. Oh, and it was spring, so the kittens had fleas - which meant baths for them, too, and extra laundry washes. Overall I'm extremely happy. Just remember that flow rate affects temperature consistency, and you'll be golden. ... show more

  • Very nice
Style: ExploreFlow Max
Easy to install, please make sure to verify outlet sides on the unit coming out of your Rv. A trip to the hardware store for pex and fittings may be required. If the hot water output flow is too strong the water will not be able to reach max temperature. Easy fix is to adjust flow at the faucet or control output flow from the hot water output from the water heater itself if you have a shut off valve installed. Quality is good and water is endlessly hot. Great value for the money!!! ... show more

  • Worth reading!

My old suburban 12 gallon tank was leaking from the combustion chamber. So I researched as best I could over a week and settled on the Rainen on demand hot water heater. It’s now been installed for about two months of continuous use. It’s doing great. I spent November and December in Ohio where it got down into the teens for several nights. I do use a heated hose in those cold temps but it still had no trouble making 124 degrees. Even at near freezing with the hose heater off. It showed 35 degree inlet and 124 outlet. I was careful to order the 18x18 door combo which saved me $79 and had to frame the opening down to fit tank itself. It very easy, I just placed a 2x4 on edge along the top and left sides. I used Kreg pocket holes to hold them in place. Installed heater, and it fits perfectly, and then installed the door kit. Made all of the connections inside and had hot water in 30 seconds. I absolutely love it but I do have a few “complaints”. I would like a handing option on the door so that it can be made to open toward the front of the trailer. The T&P valve leaks above 60 psi and I had read this before buying it. With a regulator inline it doesn’t leak but it also can’t make enough volume to run two devices. Without the regulator it does fine. I need to find a high volume regulator. The ramp up for hot water is longer than a conventional tank. I knew this going in but when I dry camp it will be an issue for water loss. I think I will rectify this with a reclamation system. So the pros far outweigh the cons and it was half the money of the suburban unit I had that only lasted 5 years. ... show more

  • Tankless water heater door and heater
Style: 18" x 18" White
The media could not be loaded. Permanent spot for year-round RV living. Ideal water heater (propane) for our RV. Unlimited hot water on demand value is priceless for price and accommodation into existing spot. Water supply and propane lines were a snap to reconnect size was in fact smaller than original. Of course because it’s a tankless. It’s been in and being used for several months. No issues with leaks or signs of rust. Uses way less propane than the bulky original Highly recommend for any and all hot water tank replacements to tankless. Wouldn’t let me upload short video of control panel inside RV ... show more
