This was the exact fit for my fire pit. I would imagine this is standard for most fire pits. If your in valve and out valve match, then you should be good. Theoretically this should be super easy to switch out yourself. It comes packaged with everything you need and the metal quality seems the same as the original. But, if you're changing your valve out, most likely it's because it's not working due to weather related issues. Mine were essentially fused metal to metal due to rain water over the years. It took me a week to finally remove the old damaged one. It was only when I discovered "liquid wrench", thanks to my dad. If your bolts are fused and won't turn to open, use this liquid. It will save you weeks of effort. Then putting this new valve on will be extremely easy. If I ever need to replace the valve again, I'll be buying this one. ... show more

I have this valve hooked up to the fire pit that I am building, to test it out before final installation. It was very easy to hook it up, and it works great. I love that it has a safety shut off. There is a thermocouple that senses the presence of a flame; if the flame blows out the valve cuts off the propane supply. Operation is straight forward: push the knob in, turn counterclockwise 90 degrees, give it a spark to ignite, keep the knob pushed in for a few seconds while the thermocouple heats up, then release the knob and adjust the flame. While the thermocouple is cold, no gas flows until you push in the knob. Great value on an excellent gas valve; recommended. ... show more

My propane gas firepit lighter broke and needed replacing. This worked perfectly. It's also nice that it came with a replacement thermocouple. Perfect! Fully recommend!
