And when you add the ability to rapidly burn fat and increase metabolism with stationary cycling, the Stamina® Conversion II® Recumbent Bike/Rower is the perfect specimen. It lets you maintain two low-impact, high-payoff aerobic routines with just one station-in the convenience and comfort of home. Plus, it has the technology and comfort feature you want and need to stay motivated to row and ride. Rower for Total-Body Workout When you row, you don't have to hit every station at the gym because it's all-encompassing. The Conversion II® Recumbent Bike/Rower not only features innovative home rowing machine technology; it eliminates your need for a gym membership entirely. Whether starting the path to good health today or you've already got that hard body and simply need to save time by exercising at home, this indoor rowing machine will work all major muscle groups and help you achieve complete fitness. Recumbent Bike for Lower-Body Workout Fitness is all about focus. And when your focus is set on tightening thighs, hips and buttocks without putting extra stress on joints, this recumbent bike offers the workout to make it happen. Our super-quiet recumbent exercise bike features a semi-reclined position that's designed to tone your lower body while providing an aerobic challenge to increase your heart rate and efficiently kick calories and fat to the curb. Rowing and cycling are widely considered two of the best all-around activities for cardiovascular fitness and strength, and now you can enjoy both workouts in a single device with the deluxe Conversion II recumbent bike/rower. Rowing is an efficient total body workout that uses all the major muscle groups, including the legs, arms, shoulders, abdominals, and buttocks. It's also one of the best exercises for building a strong back, as well as one of the most effective low-impact aerobic exercises for people who want to increase their metabolisms and burn more calories without hurting their joints. Stationary cycling, meanwhile, is also a terrific low-impact cardiovascular exercise, with a routine that focuses on all the major muscles in your hips, thighs, and buttocks. The Conversion II looks like a standard rower, with a molded, adjustable foam-padded seat and seat back, rotating rowing pedals, and an extruded aluminum rowing beam. However, the seat also doubles as a recumbent bike seat that supports your lower back while you ride, with foot straps holding your feet securely in place as you pedal. And that's not all, as the Conversion II also offers options for working your upper body--including such exercises as bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, and forearm curls--along with a resistance cord that attaches under the seat for light leg presses. Other details include eight levels of smooth, quiet magnetic resistance; a multifunction electronic monitor with a large LCD display that tracks speed, distance, time, calories burned, and pulse; sturdy steel construction; a hand- pulse sensor built into the grips to measure heartbeats per minute; a weight capacity of 250 pounds; wheels for easy transport; and a folding frame for quick, effortless storage. • Met my needs
Item arrived on time, and while packaging was a little beat up I would say it seemed to do its job of protecting the contents. Setup and assembly were fairly easy, just follow the directions word for word, and all needed tools are included. I have been using for about a month now and find, as an old guy with a heart condition resuming an exercise program after several months off, that having the lowest levels of resistance to begin with has been a plus. I am not a real big bruiser with a need to beat machines to pieces so levels of resistance provided have been adequate. I have not used the highest levels...yet. Started with just biking, added rowing after a couple of weeks, and both work fine, are easy to switch between. No issues with missing or broken parts but I will agree with another reviewer that having some parts pre-attached makes an initial inventory a little difficult. Havng pulse rate available is a real plus. Some cons: would like to have ability to show final stats after a ride. Right now only chance to see final totals is catch them before it resets if I use a preset goal value like a preset time. Average heart rate would be a plus also, when ride is completed. And footrests for rowing place axis at mid-foot whereas more at ball of foot seems like it would be more comfortable. These are pretty minor. Pros: easy to use and switch between cycle and row and exercises, quiet operation, large display, feels solid, that will offer many years of use with minimal care. After a month of daily use all glides still work well, resistance seems pretty even for both bike and rower, without "catches" or slips. Mixed feelings about the fabric covered seat and backrest: reasonably comfortable but I wonder about cleaning, if they will start to smell like absorbed sweat over time. Right now the comfort is well worth it. I have had no need to contact the manufacturer so cannot report any dealings there. Some of the additional possible exercises listed seem a little contrived, but still having them is nice but are not really "gym-quality." Overall I am quite pleased with my purchase...and with the progress I am making getting back into shape. Overall product construction and quality are actually much better than I might have anticipated for the price. ... show more

  • Awesome multi use equipment you can use in the privacy of your own home.space saver.
Ok, Just received this last nigh so I'll give my initial thoughts. the shipper damaged the corner of the box. the product is well packaged in Styrofoam so there was no damage. don't open the hardware bag and start counting bolts. you won't find them all. the are pre-installed in some of the parts. the assembly instructions were very clear and step by step. parts are all there and easy to assemble with the tools provided. I did use my socket set for a few bolts so I cheated:) Now I believe I could have been a lower price but I'm a cheapskate. the construction is good and sturdy. I'm 205 and its fine. when you are using the bike feature it is extremely quiet, you will hear a little creaking depending on speed from the seat, not loud at all but it isn't a solid fixed seat it is a rowing machine too so it has movement. the rowing function is very smooth and feels great. unless you want to lay way back, "which I do not" the back rest is not an issue and is very comfortable. In the rowing motion you lean forward and go back to the back rest as you row and it feels very natural and very comfortable. I used it barefoot so I'm sure with shoes the foot pedals would be great. the bike peddles seem very good and feel great barefoot. the rowing foot pedals are not bad but you feel the heel cup on your heel and the strap is a little high for my size 9.5 foot. I'm sure with shoes it would be great and gives room for bigger feet without getting into the arch. now beyond the recumbent bike and rowing feature the other reason I chose this model you also have foot spots at the base to stand on to hold the unit down while you use the rowing strap/handle to do curls and other arm exercises so really it is much more than just a bike/rowing machine but a more complete workout machine. watch the on line videos. the girl demonstrating it is nice to look at but gives a good depiction of how to use the rowing strap for arm exercises.my wife briefly used it but likes it. we got it to get fit at home without the BS of the meat market gyms and waiting to use equipment someone else just sweated all over. we can get fit in our own home and improve our stamina and heart health in privacy. ... show more

  • Great for seniors
I am in my early 70's, have peripheral neuropathy, lumbar spinal stenosis and, this past summer, had two stents implaced in my coronary arteries. The first two conditions had kept me from exercising as much as I would have liked: balance problems and pain in the lower back. After the stent implacement, it became imperative that I exercise more. When I discovered the Stamina recumbent bike/rower, it looked like the answer to my problems. It was!! I now can exercise daily with no back pain and, seated, there is no problem with balance. The machine is extremely well-made and easy to assemble. As someone mentioned in an earlier review, the tools provided are adequate but, a ratchet socket wrench is much easier. I did find the allen wrenches adequate to the task. It took about an hour to complete the assembly. It is heavy (thanks to its solid construction) so two people might be required for the assembly. However, I did manage to do it on my own. This machine is very quiet. I can watch TV or a video with the sound at normal levels. For those of us of advanced age (as well as the younger folk) this is an almost perfect exercise machine. One big plus for anyone with neuropathy, I found that after just a week or so, the muscles in my calves as well as thighs, developed to make walking and climbing stairs much safer. While walking is a great exercise, I found that the resistance applied by the machine develops the muscles much faster while still providing the aerobic exercise needed for good heart health. Another reviewer mentioned that the seat could use a bit more padding. I agree. After about a half hour it becomes a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, a great machine; especially for us old folks. ... show more
