I needed a home charger and didn't want to pay to have a tesla one hardwired to my home as it can get costly. I was looking for a level 2 charger that can fit my dryer plug and found this one. This works great for my model 3 tesla and gives my 24amps at 240volts and about 26 miles per hour using my dryer outlet. It does what it needs to do and hooking it up takes minutes and it very easy . I Highly recommend this charger for anyone looking to go the plug in route and the price was great compared to similar chargers out there . seems to charge at about 6.6 kW so seems within range considering this is a 24 amp charger running through a 30 amp circuit. I'm guessing maybe a bit slower than an 50 amp circuit. Glad this product is available as there aren't as many NEMA 14-30 plug Level 2 chargers as the 50 amp chargers. Wish it had an on/off switch so I wouldn't have to pull the plug out of the socket when I want to stop charging before the battery is fully charged. Being a portable charger allows for greater ability to move the charger around. ... show more

It kept indicating ground fault even though the line it was connected to was wired directly to the circuit box. I checked the grounding which appeared good. Ultimately I never was able to confirm if it was indeed the 30 amp 220 line or an issue with the charger. I had no choice but to return it. Update: Although by all accounts it appeared to be no different than Splitvolt I ordered a Lectron which specifically listed my vehicle as compatible. It works fine so now now I would recommend anyone buying these things not to buy anything unless they specifically mention their vehicle as being compatible. ... show more

Needed to upgrade from the level 1 charger that came with my Jeep. I got the 24a version with NEMA 14-30 (26ft) because it matched my dryer outlet in specs. Then I got the matching SplitVolt 24a Nema 14-30 (2x) Splitter Switch, so I could plug in both appliances at the same time. I made sure everything was 24a rated so it would never trip my 30a dryer circuit. It dropped the charge time on my dryer from 13hrs down to 2.5 hrs. ... show more

I purchased this as a faster charging solution to use with my existing Dryer outlet. I also purchased the Splitvolt Splitter and the extension cord. My outlet is in the laundry room, which is on the other side of the garage (so some distance from where I park the 2021 Nissan Leaf). So far, it works great, I am getting a full 24amps and around 5.5kw charge time. The quality of the Charger and the Splitter are top notch. I love the readout you get on the Splitvolt Splitter, it tells you exactly what's going on, and the amount of electricity you are pulling. It's also a good additional level of protection, as it has its own breaker and will not allow more than 24amps. I would highly recommend this along with the charger if you are using a standard dryer outlet with a max 30amps. As expected, the Charger just works. You plug it in and the car starts charging. It has a few lights on it, power, charging and then a couple of Fault warning lights, but luckily I haven't tripped those yet. The cable is a little over 16'ft, which seem a bit shorter than others, but it works for my setup. Another thing to note is that its IP rated: IP55. This basically means the charging box is not waterproof, make sure to research this for your setup, if you charge in your driveway or outside, then this may be an issue (especially in the rain). I believe it can handle a small amount of moisture, but can not be submerged in water (or rain puddles). Again, I would research this and see if there are ways with your setup to keep it from getting hit by direct rain/dew (if outside). I also reached out to the company when the splitter was out of stock, they got right back to me and helped get the order moving along, once the Splitter became available. I got the sense this is a pretty popular item, so they come and go pretty quickly. Lastly, if you try ordering from their website direct, they will still ship using amazon logistics, so either way, it will be shipped via Amazon. It actually took longer to order through their website, so if Amazon is out of stock, I would wait until they are back in stock and then order with Amazon Prime or just order through Amazon direct. Overall, so far, I am very happy with the setup. Like I mentioned above, the quality of the charger and the splitter are top notch and really is a unique system, compared to the others Amazon sells. Definitely beats adding another outlet, if your house doesn't have the capabilities and you would need to upgrade your electrical panel. As a point of caution, I am not an electrician, so this is just my experience. I've read It's recommended to speak to an electrician about your setup and have them look everything over to make sure you won't have any issues. ... show more
