  • Don't fall for the marketing hype
This will not make your computer faster. The optane module (27 GB actual) can only be enabled on the SSD (954 GB actual) module that is part of the drive. While one physical module, the computer will read it as two disk, each only using PCIe x2, so neither portion is capable of using PCIe x4, therefore your "1 TB" SSD portion will be restricted to 2000 MB/s. Your better off getting just a SSD NVMe that can use all four PCIe x4 lanes. However, if you are deadset on purchasing, make sure you leave 20 MB of unpartitioned space at the end of the SSD or you will not be able to use the optane module. To put it in perspective for gamers, I have a 2019 Dell G7 7590, that boots 3 seconds slower than my previous 2014 cyberpower-pc, with the differences being the cyberpower-pc had an older generation i7 processor, slower & less graphics, slower (not less) ram, and a SSD M2 module vs this optane. ... show more

  • Misleading description
When I bought this, perhaps I did not read carefully enough. I thought that I was buying an Optane. Caveat Emptor! It has a 32Gb (tiny) Optane in front of a NAND flash. For $300? That's a bit much. Why am I making a fuss? Because I can now buy Optane DIMMS in 512GB, which I put in my new server. I thought it would be nice to have a little Optane to experiment with locally, and got snookered. I got 1TB of NAND with a tiny Optane cache. Live and learn. ... show more

  • This M.2 is horrible!
I think it is sad that Intel would try and shove this down the consumers throat when purchasing a new laptop. This M.2 drive does not perform as well as VNAND or AHCI modes, which are offered by Samsung and other competitors. Intel sold their flash storage division to SK Hynix for a whopping $9 Billion - This tells me Intel has failed in this business segment. ... show more
