  • Sole F85 Horrible Treadmill/Terrible Customer Service
I purchased the F85 directly from Sole. After a delayed in delivery, which is understandable with COVID19, we were happy to finally receive it and put it together. It took about 30 minutes. Within the first week, there was a weird sound when running that I could not quite place a finger on. 3 weeks later the unit started making a terrible clicking sound when inclining and declining, like something was breaking. I called their toll free number, even though it was during business hours, I received a greeting stating they were closed. I finally decided to to go to their website and filled out a service form. No one responded, so I tried calling them again multiple times. Someone finally picked up the phone and told me they could not locate my info, even though I registered the unit from day one. She proceeded to take the unit info and said it was now registered. I informed the rep what was happening with this brand new unit, she said she knew exactly what it was(bad sign) and should be an easy fix. They said they would ship a part to my house and have a local company call to schedule repair. 2 weeks later a tech showed up with no face mask, ready to come inside but the unit is in our garage so no big deal. He did his thing and less than 20 minutes later, he said it was all fixed up. The following week I got on the treadmill for a quick run, another loud awful noise started, like driving a car with a flat tire. I'm 147 lbs for reference. When I hold on to the side arms, the unit feels like it's going to topple on one side. I filled out another form but this time I asked for a replacement. 2 days later, no acknowledgement received. I tried calling several times, I left a voice message, I was on hold at some point for 40 minutes with no success. When I finally got a hold of a rep from the Warranty dept. She asked me the same questions as the last one. I told her I was frustrated at this point and that I feel like we purchased a lemon. She said she needed to message her supervisor and she would get back to me. Meanwhile the return department finally responded to my online form asking for a video, which I sent. They proceeded with another it's an easy fix email. They wanted to ship the same part they shipped the last time. I was livid at this point and told them for a 2 month old heavy duty treadmill, the right thing to do is to replace the unit as their process was beyond frustrating. The Warranty dept rep emailed me again, asking for a video. Clearly Returns does not share notes with the Warranty dept. I re-forwarded the same video. The only resolution she could offer is to send out another tech(who knows when) to diagnose. I've owned treadmills from $300 to $3500 and have never had such issues and I did a LOT of research. I'm baffled at the positive reviews or was this just a fluke that I received a $2000 lemon. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS MANUFACTURER. A warranty means nothing if one has to jump through so many frustrating hoops. We should have returned the unit within the first 30 days but this is not over and I may look into other actions depending on how this ends. ... show more

  • THIS IS THE ONE!!!
If you're a big person (400 lbs & 6'5") like I am, this is the treadmill for you. I had been shopping for a treadmill for months but because of my size, I wasn't having much luck. All of the consumer grade machines out there had a weight capacity of only 300 to 350 lbs. I was losing hope then I found the Sole F-85. I have to admit, I was nervous about dropping 1900 dollars on a product without having the opportunity to try it but this treadmill didn't disappoint. It was took about 2 and a half hours to assemble it. The printed instructions were somewhat lacking but luckily there are videos on youtube which show the whole process step by step. As soon as I pulled my F-85 out of the box, I was impressed. Most home treadmills are small and fragile looking. That wasn't the case with the the F-85. Even though it's not a commercial grade unit, you wouldn't know by looking at it. This sucker is BIG and STURDY and it handles my weight without any difficulty. Now granted, I only use my treadmill for walking but most treadmills I've tried for home gyms will slow down or even stop if I step down too hard. The Sole doesn't even strain itself. It just keeps chuggin' NOW... The Sole doesn't have a touch screen or a video monitor that shows you pretty scenery. But for a $1900 price tag, you can't beat it with a stick. This is as good as almost any machine I've used at healthclubs. It's long enough that you don't have to shorten your strides. It's got a very user friendly LED display panel with large easy to read characters and the button controls are clearly marked and concise. It took me about 5 minutes to figure everything out. BOTTOM LINE... If you're a big person and you want a piece of equipment that delivers the goods without breaking your budget. YOU GOTTA GET YOU ONE OF THESE!!! :-) ... show more

  • Sole Fitness F85 is food for the Soul
This is without a doubt the very best consumer treadmill I have ever used! Still performs as good today as it did the day I bought it 2 years ago! Stronger more powerful motor than most treadmills, and the longest warranty in it's class, a ton of programmable features for tailoring your workouts, plus fans and speakers to attach your smart phone for music or videos while running. It even programs hills into it's features! It also folds up to minimize it's storage footprint. ... show more

  • Focuses on durability and not frills
I have now had the f85 for 2 weeks and I really like it. I use it for running and not walking so finding a treadmill with a solid deck and good motor was very important. The deck construction on the f85 is very solid and the treadmill is pretty quiet. I would recommend this to anyone whose emphasis is on a strong treadmill and NOT on frills. The speakers are average at best and the volume cannot be controlled from console. I prefer to use my headphones. It does not get very hot where I live so the fans are not as important but they are not very powerful. If you live in a hot climate the fans would not even be a factor with only one speed. Also, as others have mentioned when doing interval work, it takes the treadmill a while to change speeds after you push the buttons. It is much more gradual at switching speeds than most treadmills. It also would have been nice to have a console that had ifit or training programs availabe since the technology has become so affordable. I still give this 4 stars despite the flaws because of the durability. ... show more
