The lamp is a very nice-looking unit, and was very simple to install on an existing 3-inch post. I didn't like the clear glass, though, because the light bulb was quite glaring, even on the low setting. I bought a 12"x12"x1/8" sheet of clear frosted acrylic, cut four pieces using one of the glass panes as a template, and easily replaced the glass with the frosted plastic. It was simple to remove the top and unscrew the four corner clips that hold the panes in place. ... show more

Very bright light but it has never remained on until dawn as advertised. I have tried changing the settings but this not helped. The bulb is only on for 8 to 10 hours per night while it remains dark here between 12 and 13 hours per night.
