Enter the Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 — 150 feet of glowing, RGBIC magnificence that promises to turn your humble abode into something out of a Pixar movie. Now, full disclosure: installing these is not for the impatient. There will be ladders. There will be questionable angles. There will be a point—somewhere around LED number 47—where you will question your own life choices. The adhesive mounts and clips require the kind of commitment usually reserved for marriage or IKEA furniture. And yet, like those noble endeavors, perseverance brings reward. Because when you finally stand back, sweaty and triumphant, phone in hand, and the app bursts your house into technicolor glory—oh, the joy! Suddenly your home transforms into a living, breathing light display that can whisper warm amber in the fall, twinkle softly in winter’s hush, or dazzle the neighborhood with full-blown carnival chaos when the mood (or the holiday) strikes.
