  • Easy to connect
Receiver works well. Easy to connect. Take your time placing/installing the antennae. While I know the manufacturer "suggests" where to locate the antennae (roof) I decided to try what was easy first and thus far it's been a success. I have an older model Camry 4-Dr Sedan with a relatively flat trunk lid which is where I opted to place the antennae. I placed the antennae centered on the trunk lid at a point closest to the back window with the wiring facing the back windshield. I fed the wiring up under the trunk lid and used zip ties to anchor the wiring to the underneath side of the trunk lid and down the hinge (I opted for the passenger side) and then began to feed the wiring through the trunk and under trim work until I reach under the passenger side of the dash where I secured the receiver and connected the wiring. Things to watch for using this location for the antennae are 1) Will I experience any interference with the stock antennae in the back window of the car? 2) Will there be an instance when I have a weak signal because the trunk lid is blocked by the roof? 3) Will the trunk lid pinch the antennae wire that I run under the lid between the car's molding for the trunk? Thus far I've had no issues with the signal and I see no signs of the wire being pinched. What I like about this location is it required no mod to the car and no major work of removing and reinstalling a window seal. I also like that if "for whatever reason" I want to conceal the antennae I can simply open the trunk and put stick on the underneath side of the trunk lid until I am ready to use again. Such an example would be an automated car wash where I might want to tuck away the antennae until I am done. If I follow the suggested installation I can't do this. But best of all the installation was simple. I'll keep it this way until I start experiencing issues. ... show more

  • Excellent addition to my new Alpine stereo
Just bought a new 11 inch floating screen alpine stereo. It came loaded to the gills except it did not have Sirius XM built in. I simply ordered this kit and called it in to a port on the back of the stereo and installed it. Set up was very easy and the subscription service was simple. Great addition to my new RV ... show more

  • Secure. Out of sight.
Easy to install. Out of sight so there's less clutter on my dash. So far it works on bumpy roads, unlike the docking model.

  • Nice complement to XM Ready receiver. Can connect to a factory satellite antenna, if you know how. :)
Bought this to go along with my new Pioneer AVH-X5700BHS. I installed it along with my stereo in my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn. Since my truck had a factory satellite radio antenna, I was able to locate the connector for it behind my glove box, remove a yellow plastic retainer clip I didn't need and plug it right into this unit. While it did plug in securely, I used some electrical tape as a little extra insurance. I didn't want it to come unplugged down these South Georgia red clay roads. The hardest part of the whole install was routing the cable that goes to my head unit through the dash (without taking a bunch of junk apart.) As for sound quality - getting the sound just right took some work. Actually, it took some learning on my part as to how to operate my new head unit. However, once I mastered the equalizer settings and function volume control, the sound is not just good - it's great! It is truly comparable to the sound quality I get via Bluetooth to my Note 4 or via USB to my jump drive. As for album art - it showed up immediately. All I can say, is this is a good tuner and it compliments my stereo very well. As others did, I got the 3 free months of service, which I plan to renew with an annual plan (Mostly Music) at the end of the trial. The biggest plus I've seen so far with Sirius XM is the variety and the lack of commercials. However, the customer support via telephone is a little lacking. Either the person I got was a newby or just wasn't that good at her job, but eventually, I got my activation completed. ... show more

  • Using it with a Sony XAV-AX1000 head unit
Works fine. I mounted the antenna on a magnetic plate (the plate is steel and intended for magnetic inserts for cell phones) on my dash. I do get some drop-outs as I drive around, so I need to look at ways to resolve that. As far as sound quality...I'm underwhelmed. The quality of music is like good FM. I was expecting something more impressive. (My USB drive playing on the same head unit sounds absolutely great.) But everything works and the unit was easy to install. Now, you're going to have to deal with Sirius, which is a PITA. I tried to sign up for their "6 months introductory at 60% off" offer and couldn't do it. I actually had to have a text chat with a representative, and even then he at first said that this unit didn't qualify. He changed his mind when I insisted that I wanted it. When they tell you it's going to be $13.95/month or whatever, they sort of don't tell you that the price is before taxes, miscellaneous fees, and the invoice fee. (Yes, they charge you $2.00 to invoice you, even if you pay on-line.) Be prepared. ... show more

  • It was very easy to install and works as described
I purchased this along with the Pioneer 4000NEX and iDataLink Maestro to swap out my factory radio that already had Sirius. You should know that the receiver you mate this with needs to be SiriusXM ready, not Sirius Ready or XM Ready. It was very easy to install and works as described. I'm getting Album art on about 30 - 40% of the songs... it has more to do with the data being sent then the capabilities of the receiver. As my Ford factory radio already had Sirius I was curious if I could use the old antenna. This way I wouldn't have to mount the new one that comes with the unit and go through the hassle of routing the wire. You can. The old antenna fits right into the unit. All you need to do is remove the plastic connector cover at the end. I did it with a pair of needlenose pliers with hardly any effort. Then just insert the antenna into the V300 and tape up the part that the cover protected / shielded. Works like a charm. I've noticed no sound fidelity increases / losses from my previous Sirius unit. Sirius and SiriusXM packages are not 100% the same, however. For example, you have to get the AllAccess package on SiriusXM to get the NFL Channel. Its on the cheaper Select package at Sirius. Its a nice unit and I'm glad I picked the V300 over the V200 for very few dollars difference. ... show more
