I have worn used this product and this color, Black, and colored my own hair at home for years. The beauty shop is expensive and inconvenient for in between touch ups. I do my own, and I highly recommend it using Dark & Lovely. The whole process takes about an hour to color, wait times, washing out, shampooing and moisturizing. I save at least $30 each time I use it. However, if your hair is being double processed (i.e., chemically straightened and you get a "curl") I recommend waiting two weeks before having it double processed again. My "curl" doesn't take as well if I don't give my hair a two week rest and a wash between coloring at home and going to the beauty shop. ... show more

so far so good, I dyed my hair about a week ago and it’s still black lol. It was easy to apply. I used two boxes because I have a lot of hair, my hair was black in like 15 minutes, I had a light reddish brown before. The conditioner it comes with is great. When I need a go to hair dye this is the one i buy. The color lasts awhile plus its leaves my hair shiny & not dry. The smell is not overwhelming so it wont give you a headache when you apply .

I really like the color and that it seems to get even color distribution. It covers the grey really well, but it doesn’t last but about a week. It is quite inexpensive so I use it more often. I especially like the conditioner and leaves my hair soft and manageable.

Naturally I have black hair but I had dyed it red for a while. I got bored of the red and wanted to go back to black. This dye worked perfectly!
