We bought this for my husband who has had 2 spinal fusion surgeries. The first in 2005 and an extension in August of this year (2018). His L3, L4, L5, and S1 are all fused. After this most recent fusion, he needed something extra to help him ride in the car. This has saved him worlds of hurt. It arrived quickly and in perfect condition. It's very soft cover is a sturdy microfiber. It stays firmly on the car seat (we have leather) and does not slide around when getting into the car and getting your position right. While this does not eliminate all of the pain/discomfort from a bumpy road or pot holes, it greatly reduces it. My husband says it is very comfortable. He has been using this for 2 full months and it has NOT flattened out any. It's very well made. The portion that goes behind the back....that greatly helps him too. It puts that much needed arch in his lumbar spine (the surgical site). The only complaint we have is that the straps are not long enough, nor sturdy enough, to wrap it around our car seat. You can do it, but it stretches it out to the max and we did not want to rip the bands from the side, nor did we want it stretched to the point he couldn't attach it to, say, a dining room chair. It stays in place in the car without buckling it around the seat, so it's not worth taking off a full star. If you suffer from any kind of spinal or tailbone injury, this pillow will provide sweet relief in the car. He knows he will never be pain free but highly praised this product for how much pain it eliminates on every single car ride while recovering. If you are debating...stop. This is the set you need to get. ****UPDATE - 8 MARCH 2019**** So, my husband still uses these pillows. They have still not lost shape or flattened one bit. My husband is a pretty big guy. He is 6'2" and 225 pounds, so it's not a little person using them. That is impressive. Riding in the car has gradually become easier for him and sometimes he opts not to use the pillows, or to just use one of them. When it's one, it's usually the lumbar pillow. He has a dentist appointment the other day and brought it along. He said the lumbar pillow helped so much in the dental chair. So that's another plus to these pillows. We still do not use the strap on the back of the lumbar pillow. It's just not sturdy enough and he honestly has not had the need to attatch it to any chair thus far, so it's a non-issue. He has been using these pillows for about 6 months now and they are still firm, and in their original shapes with zero flattening. The seams are all holding and no holes or strings have developed anywhere on either pillow, so they are made well. He has called these pillows "lifesavers" many times. Anyone with spinal pain, tailbone pain, or spinal fusions should consider this set of pillows. They have been wonderful for my husband!!!!

Desperately bought several different lumbar cushions to compare for alleviating my lower back pain from herniated disk. Thought I'd try this one too, since other Amazon users rated it highly. I was also curious how useful the accompanying bottom cushion might be. Compared to some other cushions, this one doesn't push your body forward as much since it's not as thick and it's more cushy. This can be either good or bad, depending upon what style chair you're sitting in. Find this thinner cushion size fits easier behind my back when I'm in the car, since there's limited room. However, when I'm not in the car, I prefer the wider Elephix cushion because it gives my back more support and doesn't "give" as much. The SoftCare cushion is less conspicuous than other cushions, and easy to carry with you into restaurants and back& forth to work. Comes in plastic carrying "tote bag" large enough to hold both the lumbar cushion and the seat cushion together. If you have chronic back pain that never goes away, the lumbar cushion a versatile addition to your collection. I agree the SoftCare cushions seem "high quality" and find them useful. They don't "smell" like some other lumbar cushions that use cheap foam. Depending upon which style chair I'm sitting in, sometimes I find the bottom cushion helpful too. Wish they didn't put the advertising logo in such a prominent place, since it makes these otherwise high-quality cushions look less "classy".

1st I think the chair these cushions are used on is a factor, mine has a flat back & flat seat. The lumbar cushion is the best of the two. Excellent support for me, felt relief immediately! The only drawback is it does not stay in place. If made too tight the straps will break. If you have two working arms it's not a big deal to slide up from behind. The seat cushion is very hard I have been using them every day for 2 months I guess about 3 weeks ago the seat cushion deflated about an inch.... which is okay, I would say it's broken in now. I believe if the seat cushion was 2 inches larger all the way around it would be not as clumsy. Both pieces are made of good quality. I really think it depends why you need the cushion to begin with. I don't think any of these cushions are " One size fits all " For me the lumbar support was AWESOME the seat cushion I had to get used to. If your on the fence, try it. I would just be real careful about the " Footrests" that amazon pushes with these. HUANUO is not a reliable company to deal with.
