I was intimidated to put this together myself when I saw all the pieces but it was not at all difficult. All the pieces have a little sticker with a letter on it to make it easier to assemble. I kept getting interrupted so I am not sure how long it actually took me. The directions are easy to understand but I also watched the video with the person wearing white gloves and that was the best one to see what they were doing. It is worth the money as I have bought other ones that are cheaply made-this one feels much more durable and doesn't cost much more than those cheap-made ones. There is a lot of storage space underneath. Having those clips to keep the mattress in place is the best invention! I have not put a mattress on it yet but I am sure it will be very sturdy and comfortable because there are several slats!

Solid, nice design, good value.

We were looking for a 16" tall California King frame to replace a 35 year old water bed base. We wanted a platform style frame so making the bed would be easier, and also to have space under the bed for storage of off-season clothing and such. We read many reviews for various products before we chose this one. Assembly was very straightforward, but as I believe others have mentioned, it will go together much easier if you have two people. If you're like me and have a drawer with lots of hex keys, go through that and find one that matches so you can have two people tightening the screws once the frame is assembled. And you'll want a rubber mallet or a block of wood and a hammer to tap the cross pieces into place, because they fit very snugly into the slots. The frame is solid, but be forewarned that the mattress slides pretty easily on this thing. This is a common comment in reviews for platform frames in general, and many of them (including this one) come with snap-on pieces to help keep the mattress in place, but if you want to use a skirt to hide the frame (and everything you're storing under the bed), you can't use those clips (and many folks have said they break or pop off too easily anyway). Our solution has been to just try to be careful when climbing into bed ... we're both taller than average, so it's not a big deal, but shorter folks may find it more difficult. I was planning to build a new storage platform bed, but that was going to be a lot of work, more expensive, and a lot heavier, so I'm pleased with this purchase.

Storage under the bed and sturdy

I bought this because I have a small guest bedroom and I need storage space under the bed. Easy assembly. I'm 73 and assembled it alone. Take your time and follow the assembly instructions. Everything is labeled. Spare parts are included. I didn't use the included cheap wrench. There are only four nuts that need that wrench. So it would not have been a big problem to use it. I used a 13mm socket for those four nuts. I did use the included hex wrench for the rest of the bolts. No problem with it. It is very sturdy. I tested it my hopping on the mattress and shaking it. It passed the test. No squeaks or rattles. It is very solid.

Liked it so much buying one for my oldest kid at college

First time buying a bed frame like this- we are used to the mattress+boxspring+metal frame. We went this route because our teenage daughter managed to put a sizable crater in her box Pringle and mattress....we suspect from jumping on it. I wish we got this frame system sooner. It can support more weight then will ever be on the frame EVER. And it's high enough my kid now has room for 9 of those under bed long totes on rolers. We are debating a bedskirt (18" beds skirtland needed) or LED lights.. I think mom is going to win this debate and it will be rhe bedskirt. It does take some time to assemble. My daughter and I did it(with her doing 90%of the work, in about 30-45min. Something we did purchase with it was those bedframe toe guards...but haven't installed them yet. It's a good bed frame... but will require some time to assemble and disassemble to move later

The box came damaged. I don't know if that's attributable to the manufacturer, the seller, Amazon, or the transport people. When I opened the box, everything looked OK, so I put it together. There is a parts list which is awesome. The directions were fairly clear. The little bolts were sometimes a struggle to get into the embedded nuts. After assembling, I went around and made sure all the bolts were snug. It's stable. No noise. I am happy with the frame and the storage provided under the bed. Buy it if you are handy.
